There was something in the Daily Mail not long ago about men who con lonely woman. I remember that one at least was from the North East. Do a search and see if you can find the article. Could it be the same person?

Hommesdesbois, My friend reported him to plentyoffish and his account was deleted within hours. In hind site of course it would have been better to have left it, and planned some kind of revenge. His user name was:

Are you sure that James Ridley is his real name and not just an alias. He might have passports in this name but they could well be fake. He could use another one to travel with.

I wish your friend the best of luck and hope she can rise above what this 'person' has done to her.

I am sure that there will be many other women like her out there, but have kept quiet due to being embarrassed, frightened etc.

What about starting a Facebook group which has his pictures on there and ask everyone to send it to their contacts?

Another small nugget of information, his birth date is 26/12/1962 born in Castle Eden Durham. He also has an Irish passport, and said his relations had been 'very naughty'!!!!!! but who knows what is true anymore!

I wonder how I could get his picture in the newspapers in Durham asking for information?

I just wanted to say thank you for your support.

Thank you to my friend Gatita for publishing the post.

It will take time for me to recover emotionally from what this scum bag did but I will not stop doing whatever is in my hands for the police to find and punish him. I only pray he has not started on another victim.

I've just checked the GRO Birth Index via Ancestry.c.uk for men with the surname Ridley, born in County Durham between October 1962 and March 1963. You won't be surprised to hear that there is no James Ridley.

The date may be right, but he was born somewhere else, or the name may be false.

Thank you so much Mrs. Pincher for that information. To be honest, I am not at all surprised as I think he might have a false passport. The year of birth could be anywhere between 1961 and 1966 I suppose....he mentioned that his parents were from Southern Ireland. Westpox or something similar on the southern coast.
