To keep us focused, I'll join this too!
1. Have two no spend days
2. Pay off £350 on the card this week
3. Pin down the £20 which will work out as an overpayment on to the credit card - and get them to reimburse it. Try to get that paid across on to the new 0% card
4. Get two weeks' worth of lessons on the tutoring system, meaning I get paid more!
5. Sort out the paperwork and posters for the bookfairs - so I'm ready to go next week!
6. Add two more £2 coins
Fingers crossed all!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
I must admit to wearing blinkers on this Chat Forum. I've rarely looked beyond the Moneysaving Old Style board (didn't even take the hint when they moved my threads to the more relevant forum  ). Came across this board today when I wanted to find where the idea for the £2 savers club originated from and have been hooked on it since!
Well, I'm constantly writing myself to do lists and setting myself goals, so this thread is right up my street :j
Okay, what I want to achieve this week is:
- Save my first 1 x £2 coin
- Save at least £1 to ASDA savings card
- List items on Ebay/Amazon (not decided which yet)
- Search for and buy new car insurance for DH and myself
- Register for all free benefits thru new Gold Service Current Account (Lloyds TSB)
- Sign up for cheapest home phone providers
- Look into how to do a spreadsheet to keep track of my spending
Not much really then eh?!0 -
Hi I am glad I've found this sight will try to set some goals for myself.
Will try to live on £40.00 a week.
Will begin to tackle student overdraft £1340 and build savings
Will try to reduce credit card debt £738 and £190. Must admit that every time I go shopping I question myself do I really need that? Can it buy something else or do without it? All I can do is try. :money:0 -
Hi again
Thanks Palescene - will definitely be logging onto daily spend diary thread just as soon as I've typed this - so will see you all there!!!
Palescene, you mentioned where to put your Christmas club monies - well I buy Premium Bonds on a monthly basis with mine, and then cash them in after the December draw. It's great, although you don't get any interest - the amount I do save each month wouldn't add up to much and at least there is a chance that I might win a million - have won a couple of £50 during the year since doing it, so that has more than made up for the interest I didn't earn!!!When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
I didnt do any last week  naughty posting lol, but this weeks are as follows:
do not spent more than £30 buying clothes for my week away on the 7th
have at least one early nights sleep
put some more money in my newly opened saving account0 -
:hello:
I haven't done this before but I'm really glad I found this thread! Someone else metioned it's much better to have your goals "published" and I agree completely
This will be a bad week for me as someone I know is leaving my City to live elsewhere in the country and I have to go to say goodbye at the farewell / group meal. However I am can still try and be good so:
1. Order cheapest thing possible on menu and make a pint of lager last!
2. Try and get a lift home or share taxi (I won't be able to take the car that night for various reasons otherwise I would!)
3. Add at least x1 £2 coin to my new jar
4. Only spend on EBAY postage & essential fresh groceries on Thursday.
Good luck!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly
