  • this is my first time doing this so wish me luck!

my goals for the week are

to find & work out how to do a spreadsheet

to make 2 big batches of soup in my sc & freeze in small portions

to not spend my tesco clubcard points on food but to get a deal with them (probably magazine subscriptions, I know its a luxury but I love reading them)

to make my first DMP payment, hooray!

I think thats enough for the first attempt, the spreadsheet will probably take me the best part of the week to work out, any tips would be gratefuly received!

good luck everyone with your goals :)

edit as I just remembered that as its the beginning of March this week I'm hoping to join the March grocery challenge for the first time too, I was too late to join the February one when I discovered it.

Hi Pixie I just wrote my challenges in last weeks thread so here are mine again:
    Have 2 no spend days
Do not use the car unless for work or school pick ups (DD school 9 miles away and no bus)
    Pay another £300 off cc's
Have another think and look at March budget to see if I can clear Next account

Good luck everyone! I'm off to work again soon. This money saving is HARD work. I am working as many hours as I can whilst looking after 3 children (youngest just 2), I am studying part time for my degree and have just started my dissertation. The first thing I will do when we are debt free is to cut my hours at work! OH is working just as hard and we are juggling childcare between us although this still costs arounbd £400 per month and he is also studying part time for his degree - he finishes this year though.
    Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T

  • Hey everyone,

    Here's how I did - not great - boo...

*Have at least four no spend days - not doing very much and work busy, so this shouldn't be too hard
Not achieved - I managed two - Sunday and yesterday
*On payday on Thursday, pretend I haven't been paid! See if I can lose my 'it's payday, I should treat myself' mentality
Achieved - ish Still a scary amount of money has left my account already
    *Continue listing on eBay
Achieved, but slowly losing the will to live - its so boring and time consuming!
*Overpay credit card by at least £50 or more (depends how well eBay items do)
Not achieved - I decided to put this money towards setting up my business and buying stock to take to a craft fair in three weeks - hopefully then I can overpay by £300+ - speculate to accumulate and all that!
*Continue to take my lunch to work (made soup and cheese scones yesterday -mmm).
Achieved! Cheese scones were horrible but did take breakfast and lunch to work every day
*Continue to take advantage of chocolate & sweetie cravings by eating all the free biscuits and sweets at work, rather than buying my own
Achieved - getting much better at not buying creme eggs! Mmmmmm
*Do a big food shop next weekend and do some batch cooking next Saturday
Achieved! Made 8 portions of chilli last night and 4 of chicken in tomato and basil sauce (thanks to O/S receipes!)

Now I'm going to get my thinking hat on for my goals for this week and come back and post later.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone and good luck with your goals!

    scottishspendaholic x
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83

It sounds yummy, so I fancy giving it a try.

    Thanks

    Week 2:
    Week 3:
    Week 4:
A+L loan but as I have already paid the intrest no point in paying it off early(dont get one) so going to save, save, save when cc paid off
