  • There is 5.5 years between us. Im 27 and H2B is 32 (33 three days before our wedding!) and to be honest it was an issue when we met at 20 and 26. This was because I was a pretty young 20 though. :o

We stayed together and now we never think about it at all, apart from when we are dating songs etc from our younger years (we both love music!) or when i read threads online like this ;)

TBH my best mate is 31 next month and she tells me constantly that I am 'older' than her lol

The only thing that wierded him out was that despite the fact we'd been together forever (ok 4.5 years), when we bought our house and got engaged I was still a year younger than he was when we met :rotfl:

Another tale that will reassure you; my Aunt & Uncle have 16yrs between them. They met when she was 16 and he was 32 (apparently my grandfather went through the roof when she announced that she was going out with someone twice her age!)

They are now 62 and 78 and have been married almost 40 years. It's only in the last couple of years that I think the age gap has caught up with them; she's nearing retirement but still has plenty of energy, he's turning into a cantankerous old sod. Yet for the first 25 years of my life I didn't really think there was that much of a gap between them; she's kept him young, rather than him making her older, IYSWIM.

My OH is 20 Years older. (Second Marriage for both of us). At the age of 52, I have never been happier. OH looks young, acts young - puts me to shame with his energy and zest for life! Sometimes worry about the future but try not to - the last 3 years have been wonderful, and I just want it to go on for as long as possible. A couple of my friends have recently died (same age as me). Live for today!

There's 13 years between my husband and I, my gran went ballistic when she found out - and also that he had already been married once!
I was 20 when we met he was 33, we've been married now nearly 27 years and it's my half century this next birthday  . He's now in his 60's and has a disabling illness but we're still happy and we can still make each other laugh!
I don't see him any differently to the way he was all those years ago and still love him just as much!
I didn't get much hassle from my friends as my best friends bf (now hubby) was 12 years older than her - we must've been a very mature group:rolleyes:

Don't worry about what other people think and say, you know how you feel and you know if you're right for each other and that's all that matters!

Just 9 months between us but my dad was until recently married to someone 12 years younger. It freaked me out a bit when they first got together (I was 11 when they married and very slightly nearer in aged to her than she was) but I got used to it. I think his new girlfriend is about 12 years younger as well but I don't really give it a second thought. Possibly because I like her better!
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I've been a 24 year old with a 42 year old boyfriend and a 32 year old with a 24 year old boyfriend....... you know what, it really doesn't matter..... it's about who you love not how old they are :)
