ebay buyers doing my head in!

As others have stated you know how fussy people can be.
Tbh i would be a bit annoyed that if had been listed as normal and then there was no leaflet mainly because you never said so in the listing but i don't think i would leave a neg. Its a bit harsh for £1.99!
If you know an item has a scuff, mark or is missing something state it.
I know a girl who bought a coat of ebay which never had a hood. She then sold the coat later on and got a neg from the buyer saying that it had no hood and there should of been one because there was a removeable attatchment thing. She tried to explain to the cust that she never even had the attatchment but did they listen? no. I think she's trying to get that neg removed.
But it shows how ridculous people can be. If you notice anything that you think that people can neg you for, state it!
I DID state there were no instructions, he just didn't read it properly!Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0 -

Two of my 3 bad feedbacks on ebay are because of things that were VERY clearly stated in the listings.
People just don't read, unfortunately. Neither contacted me either before leaving the feedback, despite being made to tick a box confirming they had done so by eBay before being allowed to leave non-positive feedback.0 -
i think we should be allowed to leave buyers neg feedback, why not? they can say what they want about sellers but we cant give accurate feedback on them.
i sold a pair of used shoes (which was clearly stated in the listing) and the buyer sent me a message saying that the shoes were used!! its not our fault if buyers dont read listings but they are free to leave neg & neutral feedback if they wish to do so, and we cant do the same, to fight our corner?

I don't understand why you think a seller leaving negative feedback in these circumstances would have made a difference.
So you had two buyers who never received their goods and because they complained via feedback you would have left them negatives, thus probably losing two innocent customers from Ebay and other sellers.
For the latter 'problem', if item was as described then whoever you are reported to it won't make a difference, its unlikely Ebay will do anything anyway.
It would have drawn attention to someone who hastily leaves unjust negatives
And I say 'unjust' because they appear to have been given speedy refunds. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
And what is the point of that?frivolous_fay wrote: »It would have drawn attention to someone who hastily leaves unjust negatives

They never got their goods, why shouldn't they express that? I don't go checking anyone who bids on my items, I have the buyer requirements set for bidders and neither have I ever had the time or inclination to check previous feedback. I don't want to know if they leave hasty negs for a bad service received (you can't actually get a worse service than not receiving goods).
If the person they left a neg for doesn't want to deal with those buyers they can block them, I really don't want that buyer to leave Ebay because a seller gets worked up about a litte red dot..0 -
Im glad I have read this - I have never had a problem in the past either and this week alone I have had one person not receiving their item (I didnt get proof of postage, what do I do?!), one woman who won bids on four items and isn't paying and one woman who won a three piece outfit and has e-mailed me to say "thanks for the outfit but the hoody to it isn't new it has been worn". It was the tshirt out of the three pieces that had the tag on so how would she know the hoody wasn't new?September 2011 Bride

Well that's how it used to be and the system ended-up breaking down.
I've been with ebay a fair old while (7ish years) and feedback did work pretty well back then. Sellers would leave feedback when an item was sent and buyers would leave feedback when they got the item.
Prior to the change it got to the stage where a buyer wouldn't dare to leave negative feedback as they knew they'd get negative feedback in return because the seller wouldn't leave feedback until they got feedback.
I guess as more and more people used it you were guaranteed to get more idiots and selfish self-centred people on both sides using it. Coupled with it being used for business the old feedback system was going to fail eventually due to human nature.
Perhaps the only way to get feedback to work is to make it invisible until both sides post and so make tit-for-tat impossible (maybe even add a few weeks delay before feedback can be left). A seller who a buyer rates as good shouldn't fear rating the same buyer as bad (and vice versa)."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -
last week i had a buyer who hadn't read the description properly, or more to the point had only read half of it.
he was a nice enough chap and admitted he was at fault, but argued that "one might not read all of the description, especially if you are maybe in a hurry" !!!
so he must attend a local speed buying web cafe or something, and be able to think nothing of spending £100 on an item without checking what it is.
i politely advised that he always leave himself enough time to read what he is buying.:grouphug:

And yesterday was the 'icing on the cake' so to speak. I sold a gamecube game (for 99p!) and £1 postage, but it had no instructions. The buyer is now threatening to report me to ebay because I mis-sold the item to him. I told him I would refund his money, but he still is going to report me!!!!!!!!!!

My one and only negative was left by someperson who won the auction, then left neg 2 minutes after the auction had ended stating ' item never received', prior to the auction ending i had an e-mail begging me to sell it for way cheaper, with a similar sounding (not the same) username, sour grapes i think. Tried as i might to get the negative removed i gave up in the end. They responded to my unpaid item, that they had sent a cheque. I closed the dispute just for it to be over. This feedback system is all wrong, i don't really bother with ebay, buying or selling much thesedays.
