    Um.... where have you got the idea that I think we should ban tractors from, I dont think anyone apart from yourself has mentioned them? Unless of course the tractor driver is driving at a much slower speed than the tractor is capable of and its safe to go faster :rotfl:

    They dont cause "road rage" but the do cause accidents travelling at 23mph in 60mph zones.

    Also, while Im mentioning age, I should also point out that whilst I agree that alot (Not all, but alot) of young drivers are reckless/anti social/inconsiderate with their driving, it has also been proven that older drivers are more likely to speed, more likely not wear a seatbelt (Which personally doesnt bother me, as the culprit will only be hurting themselves with this action should they have an accident... but its illegal nonetheless), and (With over 40's) much more likely to drink/drive.

    Nobody is perfect at driving. When I failed my motorbike test the first time I took it, my instructor (who had been following the examiner and I on the route), said that the examiner himself had committed 3 major faults, and 6 minor ones whilst observing me. We all do things wrong, even those who think that 40 years of driving experience make them the most amazing driver, so theres very little point in apportioning blame on any particular age group.

    Very much agree with the above, the issue for many older drivers and the re-application issue is that they honestly probably do not recognise that their reactions have slowed or that their eyesight is poor, as ageing is such a slow process. Also it is easy to forget some of the theory we learn when learning to drive and I think that re-tests would be useful for older drivers.

    As far as the debate about younger drivers go, good driving I think has a lot to do with experience, understanding the way the traffic moves, and how to deal with what ever situations other drivers throw at you. Unfortunately experience has to be earned. I can see merit in young drivers having limits on engine size, and carrying passengers for maybe 2 years following passing their tests to limit the distractions in the car and help them understand the road ahead.

    Precisely FC, thank you.

    In actual fact, he was more than qualified, as he was also a DSA registered examiner, but chose to teach people how to ride safely, rather than purely telling them if they had passed or failed, as he found it much more satisfying.

    Shame you dont think a little more about your inflammatory posts sometimes inactive. You know with half a thought, you could possibly say something quite interesting!
