Hi,
I have got a load of digital photos from a recent skiing holiday and want to show them to all the family. However, I have deleted them from my camera and so can't use that to exhibit them on the tv in the lounge. Is there some way I can burn the photos to a CD or DVD and play that on my dvd player?
I have Norton 6, and don't really want to buy any specific software, since i only want to use it this once.
Thanks for any help.

Ps. I know I could show them on the PC but I want to show them to loadsa people at once. :-)

A friend of mine has a DVD player with JPG photo support, so if your player has that then you can just burn the photos to CD as JPG files, insert the CD into your DVD player and it usually starts playing or you just press Play and off it goes as a slideshow - it automatically advances but you can pause it and jump back or forward with the remote control.

Most modern DVD players will display jpg files that have been burnt to a CD, so give it a go. I don't see the relevance of Norton 6, but if you mean Nero 6, that will do fine. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Thanks, I'll have a check if my dvd player can do that.
Sorry, yeah I meant Nero 6. doh!

If you have Nero 6 as you can also make a quite professional slideshow and add effects between slides and also sounds. Menus & chapters can also be created to look like a dvd menu etc. Good luck !0

If you don't get a long with Nero, then there is this which you may find more intuitive.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
If it's easier, couldn't you just plug your camera into the computer, drag the photos back onto the camera card and then just show them like you usually do by connecting the camera to the tv?0

If your DVD player won't play JPEG files, there is a workaround - use Nero to create an SVCD disc using the JPEG files - it will create a SVCD stills slideshow which will play on most DVD players.
There is an option on each JPEG added for a delay between each still - once you've added the files, (right click) select all, and change the option in (right click) properties to around 5 seconds or so. If you don't do this, you will have to keep pressing '>>' or 'next' to get to the next picture.
HTH.

I've done a few "slideshow onto disc" and found that putting them on a DVD rather than a CD results in far better image quality when viewing.Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0

Thanks guys for all this info,I didn`t realise you could burn photos onto a CD and watch them as a slideshow on tv by using a DVD player.
Having tried it out, could anyone explain why every now and again during the slideshow a photo jumps out of sequence?
Also, why when playing back short video clips the dvd player only plays back a certain number of clips and not the full amount that`s on the CD.0 -
Well I got all excited, downloaded slideshow pro from the link above, selected a load of pics, selected some music, created my slideshow.......................only to find, the free version has banners all over the pics!!!!............what a bummer!!! anyone know of a version that dosent????0
