Hi there Mrs GG in Golden Towers

Have been lurking a bit again recently and just thought I' d say hello! You seem to be doing really well...

Re the extra BT money..why not pay off your OD? It's probably on the highest APR of the lot? Otherwise just do a snowball and stick religiously to paying it off in order...

It's do as I say though rather than than do as I do!!!:o Luckily most of mine are on 0% apart from the holiday spend which I will know next week...but my strong inclination is always to 'sprinkle the repayments':rotfl: and bring everything down a bit...but then don't get the big improvements that would probably spur me onto better things!!

Have a great Sunday with the goslings and Mr GG

Hello happy and welcome back Brizzle!

All is currently quiet in the nest. Everyone except me is asleep. I will head on up to lay my head down shortly. Today has been a good but tiring day.

Hellifax have not sent the spondoolies back to me as yet. I'll give it a couple of days and then call them up. Then will speak to MrGG and make an executive decision.

So having been paid it seems as though the money is falling through my hands. However the purchases to date have been necessities such as fuel, food. So now it MUST STOP. Still managed to spend over a £100 in the supermarket. However we have lots to eat yet I've still needed to go and buy more fruit. We eat so much fruit. I must be raising fruit bats. Well, fussy fruit bats who will only eat apples or bananas. Of course next week might be a different selection all together.

I shall post my CC situ but MrGG says I spend too much time online and has been giving me grief so I have been making a point of keeping my online activity to a minimum when he is home. Plus I do agree that I do spend a lot of time online and it is not a bad thing to reduce the time I spend. I've also been trying to keep on top of the laundry. Now that is a job I dislike. It's never ending and depressing.

Not had much luck with eBay. One item sold. Plus I realised too late that the weekend just gone was a free listing one and I missed the boat. However my new BFF is Freecycle. Managed to pick up some real finds. Saved myself a few dollars.

My warm toasty bed is a-calling and I must go to it.

Hope payday has reached you as January is a long month, alternatively if payday is not yet here, it's not long now til the end of the month.

    Til the next installment........

Hasn't today brightened up weather wise? Almost spring like. Well it was this morning and then this afternoon despite being bright, there was a serious wind wafting about so I decided to stay in and get a few jobs done. Out of those jobs I achieved two and a half. The half having to be abandoned and the goslings decided it was far too boring and were both venting their displeasure. This is the start of the ganging up on mother malarkey I fear. They start so young these days don't they?

Have put another item on GumTree. Hopefully that will sell and net me a few bucks. My other items are not selling. Wonder if too expensive? I might hang onto them and sell at a car boot instead.

happym the laptop just doesn't want to play ball any more. Plus MrGG has cancelled the dongle, though it would work with our wifi wouldn't it? There is always some thing needing fixing or clearing or putting away. I blame the men tbh. Life was much easier and tidier before they pitched up.

Need to purchase car tax and look for house insurance online as that is up for renewal in March. Any tips?

MrGG and I were talking and most of our friends are big earners and if it wasn't for our debt we wouldn't be that far behind. Really difficult receiving invitations and having to decline or make excuses.

Haven't spent a bean today which is good, have posted some letters second class and also on the way to the free kids activity this morning I recycled a load of glass that was beginning to take over the kitchen. Quite pleased that I managed to kill not two but three birds with one stone. Actually I am not so sure I like that saying anymore! *ruffles feathers and protects nest*

    Evening Debtbusters,

I was very excited to receive Martin's email about energy suppliers. I filled out all the details to discover I could save over £300. However the supplier is some random and the feedback is not so good and the three below that are companies I have never heard of. Basically I feel like I'm back to Square One again. Plus we have an issue with Southern Electric that needs sorting but MrGG has already tried to sort it but without any success. On this occasion we think we owe them but they think they owe us and have us nicely in credit. Obviously this concerns me. So until we sort out both the electric and the gas we cannot benefit from dual fuel.

British Gas have us on their Standard Domestic tarriff as do SSE. I feel we are paying above what we need to be. Is there a SSE rep on the Electricity board? I've not seen one.

Happy, I think ye olde laptop's issue is the fact that it is ancient an in need of some therapy and memory.

In Credit Card land, it seems the Hellif@x balance has not been transferred twice. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200. Apparently a transfer was attempted twice but the second was deemed an error and refused or something. Tho I do have a payment of £42 coming back my way which w my last payment to them.

The situation currently is bleak, actually it is what it is:

    CC1 £469 @ 3.9% Life of Balance and £5950 @ 0% til Sept 13 then 20.9%
    CC2 £3900 @ 0% for 9mths (need to check this)
    CC3 Nil
    CC4 Nil
    CC5 £1060 @ 0% til May 13 and £1511 @ 16.9%
    CC6 £199 @ 16.9% and £4206 @ 0% til Jan 14

    Total £17,294.

Not sure whether to be terrified its such a huge amount or relieved that its not worse. It's a bit noose wound my neck that much I do know. I'm very disappointed that I can't update my signature with more positive numbers instead of an increase. Disappointment city here. I guess one view point would be that at least I am not back to where I started I suppose. I should think of this figure EVERY time I open my purse to splash out.

Question for all eBay/GumTree fans, do shoes an handbags sell well online and if so which is better? I'm feeling a bit d!jà vu! Have I asked this before?

Just a short update from me, I'm feeling weary and pathetic. I'm off to drown myself in the bath. A very bubbly bath. I deserve it after the day I've had.

If you are debt beating I hope you have had either a NSD or a low spend day or the you have bagged yourself am utter bargain.

Evening my lovely debt busting buddies! *waves to all*

Happy, the idea of posting a SOA is good in principle except that in reality I have no income and a fair bit of outgoing dollars. My maternity leave money is reducing scarily quickly. Though it is to be expected of course.

I've sold some stuff on eBay, though I wonder if after the PayPal fees and eBay fees if its really worth it? Perhaps car boot sales would be better? But I can't imagine that a car boot with the goslings on the loose would be much fun or indeed very lucrative!

I should really go to bed but I hate going to bed too early as I don't feel like I have had much "me time" as the goslings don't always go to bed when they are should and after spending most of the day watching awful children's tv, I quite like having the tv control back! Yes the goslings rule this nest. I am but a mere slave to their needs. Luckily it's only for a short while. I mean the next 18 years will fly by I am sure. :rotfl:

Stacey Solomon reminds me of TinTin. *random*

I've thought of a business idea I could possibly do but I am not sure if its really viable as its far from unique and if anything the market is flooded. If anything I quite enjoy it as a hobby and perhaps I should leave it there and think of something else.

Short one from me tonight, my eyelids are drooping and I am craving my nest.

    G'night y'all.

This weather is positively Antartic worthy is it not? I am so very cold. Had to put the heating on earlier than usual. So very cold, even with an extra layer on. I am sure I saw a glimmer of spring recently?

We've been cooking from scratch here and as a result have been enjoying some really tasty meals though I can't believe the amount of food we get through! I'm sure we could keep a green grocer in business based purely on our consumption of bananas alone!

Really annoyed that I missed out on another free insertion weekend with eb@y. Hopefully there will be another one in the not too distant future. I'll try Gumtree again and also have a look to see if there are any local selling groups in my area.

In terms of future income, well there won't be any unless I can come up with some clever legit *obviously* money making venture. I'm not returning to the world of work anytime soon. Childcare costs prohibit it. I simply do not earn enough, my only option is free childcare. Which doesn't exist. Not for us. We don't have any family who are fit or able enough and tbh even if we did we couldn't expect them to do it for nothing. I have very mixed feelings about not returning.

I should have spent the last month car insurance hunting but mothering the goslings has gotten in the way and so now I'm on a countdown to comparing quotes and working my way through Quidco. By changing my work status I'll be saving myself quite a few pounds so that will help. If we didn't need a car I'd get rid of it but we do. To get anywhere round here a car is essential unfortunately.

Another day has been and gone and I'm set to head off to lay my feathers down to rest ready to do battle with wilful opinionated goslings tomorrow.

I started the day feeling bright and breezy, then lunchtime arrived and I feel like I've run into a fog. Certainly feel like I'm coming down with something. Probably caught off the goslings as they are oozing snot and drool all the time at the moment. My head is heavy and as usual when I get poorly I become a right miserable bag of feathers. I like to retreat and wallow in my own self pity. Preferably in front of trash tv, a hot drink and a blanket. Clearly this is not how I spent my afternoon and clearly I don't think I will be able to spend an afternoon in that manner anytime soon due to the goslings monkeying around. I do struggling with the lack of achieving stuff in the day. It's shocking. I managed one load of washing, bit of cleaning in the kitchen and that was it! Rest of the time was sucked up by feeding, washing, clothing, napping, dirty nappy changes etc etc. the clean laundry from two days ago still hasn't made it into the wardrobe.

Money worries are getting on top of me a bit. I've yelled at MrGG and he simply glared back at me. I then glared back HARDER. Oh I'm feeling fighty and tired. Oh so tired. Of course this is to be expected with goslings but it doesn't get any easier. Well not til they are a touch older.

Still trying to think of a creative way to earn some money from home and failing so far. Must try harder.

I'm going to retire as its been a long long long long long day. Hopefully the night won't feel as long. Famous last words I'm sure.

    Til the next installment........
