Thanks guys.
I am finding it really really hard. I DESPERATELY need new clothes for work and I mean my clothes are falling apart, my shoes have holes and I look a scruff. Not good professionally or personally.
Certainly cannot fix the situation, least not anytime soon.
Luckily have no social life so that makes it easier to not have to keep turning down oodles of invitations to go out.

I wish I could help but I wear a uniform for work so don't own professional wear. And I imagine you don't take size 7. But then if you did I have no bussiness high heels. What about charity shops or borrowing off people or just saying hey I need to put myself first. Debt busting is exhausting and it's effecting self esteem I've decoded to hold my extra cash back and do some improvements that will mKe me feel better about myself and life. It's all well and good sometimes draining every last penny on debt but you soon feel the pressures cxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Thanks for the pep talk Happy.
Trouble is I don't know the PIN for my CC (obvious reason why) and I don't want to spend on my CC. So I am not sure what the answer is. Clearly cannnot go to work naked. Hopefully sorting out my wardrobe and other bits and bobs will help? I may find some brillant items that will revive my wardrobe or whisk me back to the 90s and my bad fashion sense?** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Half the crap in my wardrobe is a waste of space but it's there to fill the shelves. Sometimes I feel like I neve spend and when I have to I panic I don't like to part with the cash. We were naughty and opened a next account to order our holiday clothes because we couldn't afford to buy them. But needs must. Does eBay have any decent work clothes if the only method of sorting the work clothes is to use credit then maybe just set a limit an don't beat yourself up about it lifes hard at the best of times xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. I could but with clothes I really need to try them on.
One suit I have has a hole in the ladyregion which I should sew up but knowing me after my efforts it will probably end up drawing more attention to said area !!!
The other one has changed colour, not sure how, but its changed, maybe nobody else will notice but I notice and its bothering me. Stupid me. Need to toughen up. Quick. Need to worry less.** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

If I had nothing to worry about I'd have to find something to worry about ask oh to get pin go with him spend a set amount go to a cash machine an get him to change the pin be realistic. If you really need the clothes then you have to it's one thing slobbing at home but at work it does nothing for self esteem

aww GG, debt rollercoaster is really giving you a rough ride aint it...dodgy hug time.:grouphug:
For what its worth I agree with Happy. You NEED clothes for work. Have a good look through the wardrobe, see whats in there that could be revived & make list of what is needed without going overboard with a complete different outfit for each day. Then tell Mr GG what you've sone, how you've thought theough the requirements for capsule wardrobe (MSE version, not Gok) & that you have small budget & need him to change the PIN as soon as you've done.
Then set yourself the challenge to get all you need for less that the already low budget you've set!
Can't beat a bit of Florence n Fred & if you can stand the hoards of teenagers, Primark has some good prices....BHS stuff can be pretty good too....
so do it, accept that you have to do this as going to work showing ladybits is not an option. but most importantly DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT IT.
Meal planning is also a godsend.....which reminds me....must do next weeks....I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
yes meal planning, it helps that im following slimming world so i sort of have to meal plan and stick to it im eating fruit and yoghurts like a woman possessed but just short of 200 a month we spend on food for 2 of us 4 cats and a dog so i cant complain.... xxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES.
