The Latest Update
Hi Y'all.....
Where has the time gone!? I've not had any time whatsoever to get on here.
I'll cut to the chase with the job situation. After a third interview with the company, I still didnt get the role. They felt that myself and the other candidate coulc both do the job, she pipped me at the post as they felt she was a better fit for their team. Which is fine. Still disappointing but fine. I knew when I met them that they weren't QUITE my kind of people, though I would have done the best I could. Not to mention that there were some other issues going on in the company that I would have had to dealt with and did keep playing on my mind, though again I would have bust a gut to make things all ticketyboo.
So since being told, thanks but no thanks, I have had a 13 week review at the Job Centre. Yet again another wonderful experience. Kept waiting 30mins! Then told I have to start looking for work 90mins away though they agree I can still look for a min salary that we agreed until Sept. I did say that I had already cut a chunk of my min salary expectations. Then I was asked if I wanted to apply for a job at the JC itself, working for the Signing On team. I just smiled sweetly and legged it.
I have a first interview for a company next week. Other than that its all a bit quiet on the job front.
All animals are fine, tho dog cost me nearly a ton at the vets a week ago, needs must and all that. Dog is much better now, so worth the pennies being spent, or should I say POUNDS!!! I don't think vets even know that pennies exist!!!
Mr GG is good. He is being bright and chipper and really nice and easy going at the mo. Tho he did ask me last night what my plans for today were, so he is still checking up on me, tho I don't mind really. I always make a response up of, well I'll get up when I can be bothered, I'll walk the dog when I can be bothered, I'll look at the mess around the house when I can be bothered, after I have looked at the mess then I will think about the mess a bit more, then I will watch some tv, then maybe eat, then probably go and do something with my horse then I will probably come back and look at the mess some more, then before I know it the day is over and its bed time. Guarantees a good reaction from Mr GG!!!
I have COMPLETELY fallen off the FlyLady Thread, which is gutting, so I must get back on it and start blitzing again. Literally I ran out of time.... Not quite sure what I have been doing but still, the house needs a right scrub.
Hope everyone is welll and I will have a quick read of a couple of diaries before I head out again for the afternoon.
Oooooh and I have 3 x £2 coins in my purse! One I managed to lift of Mr GG with my "Aw but I collect them" line.... worked a treat. Though I did say it in front of other people, so think he felt bit pressured into handing the shiny coin over - Come to MAMA!!!

I've had to dip into my £2 stash. Really gutted as all week it seems to be the only coin in my change and I've had to use it.

Need to vent, need to vent, need to effing well vent.
Had an interview this week. Long and short of it being that the interview went OK. Just ok. I wasn't my usual sparkly self, the interviewer was late and then said sorry, though I could tell it wasnt a heartfelt sorry and I got the impression that she was not being overly friendly towards me. Could not or would not keep eye contact, crossed her arms, crossed her legs away from me. Interviewed me in a glass office, with me sat in the seat looking out with the world and his wife of the org gawping in at me. Thought that was a tad unfair.
Got feedback from agency (BTW the lady who I deal with irritates me a lot) saying that the candidate she interviewed at the agency (aka Me) was not who seemed to attend the interview. She said and I quote "it was like a different person went and I was originally really impressed with you..... and I need to consider if we are able to find you a role". Well my dear, you can shove your roles up your butt, cos when I first contacted you, you left it for weeks to get in touch and only cos you had ONE role that even sat anywhere near my salary level, and even then it still falls short by quite a margin.
I made up some old tale about needing a break cos I am could be interview weary as I have been looking for 5months. Truth be told, the interviewer didnt like me, I wasn't keen on her. End of story. Now the agency have got their commission knickers in a twist wondering if I am placeable. So she is calling me back in a week to "see how I am".
One part of the role doesn't even traditionally sit with this kind of role and so that put me off a bit already, talk about palming the carp stuff onto someone else.
Mr GG was a gem and said not to worry and that I should have said in the interview, I am clearly not what you are looking for you mardy tart and lets not waste anybodys time any further. Good day.
I wish I had done that, and I wish I had told the agency that the feeling I got from the interviewer was not a good one and therefore I think that is the reason I answered the questions the way I did. If she can't be bothered with me, then why should I be bothered with her? Petty. Maybe. Though if HR don't like you, then you don't stand a flaming chance.
VENT OVER.
On the plus side. TopCashBack have paid me. Good on me for doing that finally. Need to pay it off my MBNA card now. Its only just over £37 - its an overpayment all the same.
For even more exciting news, and don't get crazy at me you lot, I have discovered that I have an unemployment policy and have had for 4years!!! So I can claim and can start receiving my half of the mortgage hopefully. Providing my ex company fill in all their bits correctly and in a timely manner. So that is something. I'll prob either stash the cash or pay off MBNA.
Didnt join the FLylady thread this week, though I have got the list of jobs and I have done the kitchen and half done the lounge. You would never known I had even touched the kitchen. Mr GG is such a messy git.
Went to see Harry Potter on a 241 deal and took our own popcorn and Haribo! Nice to have a cheap night out. I also spied lots of other people smuggling in their own goodies. Go Money Savers!
My chum has heard of a job going locally and she picked me up a form so I will get that sent in before next week's deadline. Its nowhere near what I was earning but I like the sound of the company and it could be a winner.
No more £2 coins accumulated at the moment, probably cos I aint been spending any cash.
Have been baking all afternoon, still managed to burn a few bits. Hobnobs are going down well. Down on to my hips that is!!! Shocking. Lets hope my clothes still fit me as I shan't be purchasing any new ones anytime soon.
Mr GG is being lovely and supportive and we are getting along like a house on fire... in a good way that is!!!!! So that's all wonderful. Til the next time I trip over his shoes or find that he has not put the lid on the laundry basket, or left the shower gel on the sink. Married life can be utter bliss *uber sarcastic tone*.
Hope you are all ok my fellow financially challenged diarists. I do appreciate your posts, love reading your diaries. You guys and gals give me the kick up the butt to keep plugging away at applying for jobs and to not ignore the black hole AKA my debt.
No words of wisdom or gentle reminders not to spend cash as I, myself, am all emotionally spent out, over one poxy interview.
May have to hit the wine tonight. For medicinal purposes. You understand.

I tell you, when the agency were on the phone and it felt like I was being given a talking to, I was gesticulating at it like it was going out of fashion.
Childish. Maybe. Improve my mood. By heck it did.
I was ready to kill when I hung up. Now less so. I have vented and now I feel relieved of my anger and frustration.
The woman didnt like me. She gave me a funny look when she walked by me the first time, must have known I was the candidate waiting for her. Perhaps she felt intimidated by my wonderfulness and rock solid career history!! Not to mention she asked me TWICE what I did outside of the office. I wanted to say - you are NOT ALLOWED to ask me if I have children or have any plans to have any, so STOP trying to ask me. You should know better than that.
Job hunting is exhausting, especially at times like these. Got more chance of winning the lotto than getting a job, or even a temp position.
Have discovered most agencies don't know diddly squat or treat their candidates very well.
One agency put me forward for a job that I attended an interview. Not heard anything back. Same agency put my CV forward for an ongoing temp position, not heard anything back. I give up chasing. I give up on them.

they can ask you if you have kids as long as they also ask male candidates the same thing.... not recommended but not illegal
agencies are a pain in the proverbial but have largely sewn up the job market for the sector I am in so unavoidable for me
still waiting for interview confirmation and times from the role I went for a week or so ago - frustrating!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ah ok! Or in my case its more a case of a bit of discrimination as they wonder if I am likely to leave them shortly to go off on maternity leave......
I stand corrected on that point. I do apologise.
Is it true, that they are not supposed to ask you if you have any plans for children?
Seems I need to brush up on my employment law knowledge.
For me, its agencies plus applying directly. I no longer go down the spec CV route. My past experience says it doesnt work and all it does is cost me in terms of paper, ink and postage for very little in return.
Some companies take weeks I know. Frustrating yet the ball is always in the employers court it would seem. I don't even want to be tennis player, just a ball girl would do!!!!!** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)
