The Latest Update
Afternoon everyone. Hope you are all having a great Friday. Finally the sun has gone into hiding here, the rain has been and gone and now all we have is humidity!!! Talk about crazy.
Boy do I have a heavy head today. I think its a combination of all the heat this week, plus interview stress, plus heat, plus hectic week. I am soooo tired. Any motivation I had has well and truly disappeared. I shouldn't have had a bath. Ended up having a snooze, totally not planned and now I am zonked and feel rubbish. My own fault.
The interviews went well. The interview for the horrible job, actually went ok and it was one of the best performances of my life. Long story short the agency called me to say was I happy to proceed and I said no I had my reservations. TBH, the atmos in the office, was, well, non existent! The company sounds unorganised in a lot of ways and anything that anyone wasn't sure about who should be responsible, then it fell to the role I was going for. Agency were mighty cheesed off, though when I told them I was not prepared to do a 50 hour week, without breaks (which is what the person who is currently doing the job is doing and told me so) I then cut the conversation short and bid the agency farewell. If they choose not to put me forward for any more jobs then I will have to live with it. Mr GG agreed that yes, I need a job, he wouldnt expect me to do one with those conditions.
Second interview went very well. I have been invited back for second interview and I am being personality tested. Anyone any experience of these? Be interesting to see what it reveals about me?! Probably that I am a loon. A loon that is very good at her job all the same. So come on hand over the contract and let me sign!!!! LOL.
Another job, the HR lady is apparently VERY interested in me! Again, will have to see as they are advertising locally this week, so that will generate another million applicants I am sure.
SH - would love to go through my answers/responses on the phone as I am sure they sound robotic. I really had to think about one question recently, which was "What motivates you?" - Answers on a postcard please!
I am quite excited about joining the Flylady thread and plan to start on Monday! I will do what I can until then mainly to keep Mr GG happy and then it will be all systems go and Operation Nest Improvement shall begin.
Have convinced Mr GG that we should get a clubcard and get the reward vouchers and use them for flights or whatever. They are really valuable! You can fly to Oz for as little as £400 rtn, taxes and all included! No doubt it will take us forever to earn that amount in vouchers. Who cares though. If it means a sort of "free" holiday then its really really worth it. Anyone know how I sign up for Clubcard?
Getting narked with Valued Opinions, I never seem to qualify for any of the surveys. I have given up with some of the other ones too. Daily Clicks I havent done for yonks. I seem to do them more when I was working, cos I had a quiet 5 mins, now I am at home all the time, its a real effort to crank the PC up and do it.
Guess I should dash really, the dog needs its exercise and I am hoping it will wake up (me not the dog LOL). I shan't hold my breath.
Sending all good wishes to my fellow DFW who are currently in a bit of strife esp surrounding employment issues. Its spreading like a disease isn't it and nobody seems safe. Remember you are not alone, we are all here to help, even if its to listen to you vent and rage.

Clubcard is brilliant - we convert all our points to airmiles & went to New York with them 18months ago......WHEN I get job,, I'm hoping to book another trip there....as we're so nearly the amount we need
Think the Clubcard plus is the one to check out...theres something on here about it.....I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -

Best of luck GG. Personality tests are a bit hmm well pants imho. After doing too many I'd be very inclined to simply be yourself. If that fits in with their perceived corporate culture great, if it doesn't then maybe a lucky escape.
I was once asked, a long time ago, what I thought about a very prominent policeman who been mouthing off in the press that all homosexuals were condemed to hell because they went against the teachings of the bible. My answer, which I thought was good, was that a man is entitled to his private views but while he's wearing the uniform and being quoted as a deputy chief constable he had no right to spout such intolerance and discrimination. The head of the interview panel then chipped in that the DCC was a god-fearing man and we needed more like him. I actually saw my career circle the drain...very surreal experience.
So for what it's worth be you and damn lucky them if they get you!!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
I did a personality test recently - paid for by my last company - that I got to see the results for. I did 2 different versions one "frigged" and one "extemely real" - she said the real one would be more likely to get me the job as long as I toned down on a couple of questions...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I dont think I've ever been personality tested - maybe I havent got one :eek:0 -
The Latest Update
Happy Weekending all.
The weather has broken, it is still tshirt weather but no longer scorching the skin off my face. Which is always a bonus.
I completed the test yesterday, it was a tough test, some answers I picked on the basis of "oh sod it, I have to pick one and none of them suit, so eenie meenie myneeee there goes any hope of a job offer mo" As KJ says, what will be will be.
Don't really see how these tests can be overly accurate, this one in particular gave you four statements and you had to pick which was most like you and which was least like you, then had about a trillion screens worth, repeating the same statements. So you couldn't even write or create your own answer, you had to pick a statement and some of them were nothing that I would ever choose. As I said, be interested to see the results.
Job Centre have told me to come back for 13 week review and to bring proof of job search. So I will have to print off all the email invitations to interviews I spose. Hope that is good enough. I am prepared for a grilling and questions that ask me why I am not going for jobs that pay 10p a day, after all a job is a job. Will have to really think my answers through before opening one's large gob, obv after removing one's large foot first.
Collected my horse's rugs today, as looking very shabby and needing some major repairs, can't afford new ones, so patched up and reproofed is the best its going to get. Can you believe it, but one of my rugs has gone missing. One of the rugs that has been returned as being mine has two things in common, and that is that it is a stable rug and its the same colour in theory (blue) whereas mine ie light blue and the one returned to me is dark blue, not to mention its two and a half foot too small for my horse and the hair on the inside of the rug is not even the same colour as my horse. Not to mention that for a rug cleaning service, I would be expecting all hair to have been removed!! So they are going to call me with an update. They could tell I was miffed. I have paid for the rugs that have been correctly returned and repaired/reproofed, so I still have one outstanding. This is the first time I have used these people and so owner was grovelling trying to reassure me that the rug would be found. Well it blooming better had. Otherwise they shall be buying me a new rug. End of.
My turn to walk the dog. Mr GG is out and about, back later and we will go walkies again then. Hoping that this exercise, plus riding, will help me keep fit and trim. Am eating for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales at the minute, think that is due to my monthly chum imminent visit.
Mr GG cleaned the house yesterday, he really blitzed it, so I am being good wife and keeping it tidy and not re-mucking it all back up again. Not to mention that this will give me a head start on the FlyLady Thread in that I won't be trying to clean a hovel, instead house will be vaguely clean, so it won't take as much effort to make it all sparkly and shiney again.
Need to draft up shopping list and meal planner for this week and need to think about what is in cupboards, what needs using up and how to do meals as economical as possible.
The spuds I bought last week are sprouting white bits. Does this mean they are no good? Advice please anyone?
My last loan payment on NRock went out on 1st July, not June. So NOW I am officially one creditor less. Only the rest of them to slowly kill off with timely repayments and overpayments now!
I still haven't got my dosh from TCB. I must must must must do that. Though as I now get my statement online and the DD is already set up, I finding it a trauma to find the payment details, as I have forgotten my passwords and stuff for the online statement. I tell you, when I am on the ball, I am really on it. When I am off it, well, then I am carp.
OOhhhh, the sun is trying to reappear. Stay away sun as you are killing us slowly, you really are.
Think I am going to have a lazy day today, least what's left of it I shall. Not sure what Mr GG and I are doing later. Perhaps might persuade him to get a DVD. Though he has a bee in his bonnet about going to the pub lately. Think it makes him feel normal, or should I say, less debt like. We have booze in the house, already bought so it seems daft to go to the pub and pay over the odds for it. If I say this, Mr GG glares at me.
Have a lovely weekend where you are, wherever it may be. Hope you are all well. Don't think about money today, give yourself and your worries the day off, the situation will still be there tomorrow, even then its a Sunday so day of rest. Worry again on Monday. Life is for living, so start today.
I'm off to find something nice and naughty to nibble on in the kitchen.... and I aint talking Johnny Depp! PMSL!!! LOL LOL!!!

Same for us. I just chop off the extra bits and bake, boil etc as per normal. Peeled horrible black carrots the other week cos I need carrots and they had gone ugh in garage and I was too lazy/tight to go and buy 3 carrots, underneath they were orange and carrotty and the boys are all still with us. I think a few bugs and stuff are good, hate those kill 99.9% of all germs adverts. Minute those kids go to school they'll have every lurgy under the sun.
