Today's Installment
Do you ever feel like everything is rubbish?
My interview for this week, was shocking. Me that is, not the interviewer. Don't think I'll be getting a call back. I seem to fumble and waffle and generally wave a big sign saying "Don't hire me, I am a flump".
If things could be different. If I could be some wonderbug who was super articulate. On paper I am Amaaaaaaaay - Zing. In interviews, I come across as having way less Zing and more Zzzzzzzzzzz. Who know's what I will do.
Musn't dwell on the bad things, like having no job, no income and no way of paying off all my debt. Really feeling sorry for myself at the moment. Shouldn't really as I have a lot going for me. This debt does get me down, even though I am doing something about it. Its like a big hurdle on the path to happiness (ok so no one is truly happy all the blimming time) but you get my drift.
Need to pop out and get a couple of horsey items, will be back to haunt you all later on.
Hope you are loving the sunshine where you are...... enjoy it as after all its free!!!!

HI Mrs GG sorry you had a bad interview.:rolleyes2 I have had some of those myself. the first one I had in this latest saga was terrible but they did keep me waiting an hour and half and I'd had no lunch! After one I didn't get a couple of weeks ago I got told my passion and enthusiasm didn't come across.
This week I tried to relax and told the interviewers that kissing the blarney stone hadn't actually had as much impact on my communication ability as I'd hoped for - I then described in great detail what you have to go thro to actually kiss the stone! :rotfl:I'm kind of hoping I didn't go too far the other way!
The trick for me is to go in and imagine the job is worth £10K more than it is. How enthusiastic would you be then? I also try and write down all the reasons I want this particular job - otherwise it can feel like you are just going to the interview for the sake of it. I have to say that is how I felt when I had 3 interviews in a week. I only really wanted 1 of those jobs and interestingly that is the one I got to second stage for the others I didn't. You have to remember if you got to the interview they think you can do the job - what they want to know now is a) will you fit in and b) was your CV truthful - can you do the job?
Hope that helps - from a fellow interview sufferer!:rolleyes:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

On the plus side, today I received £20 M&S vouchers that I redeemed from Valued Opinions. Reckon on keeping those to purchase presents with and not sell as I did contemplate.
Not had a peep from MOPAY for the mobiles I cashed in, perhaps they have been stolen enroute? Wouldn't surprise me the luck I am having lately.
RE: the interview. The company looks fab. Fast thinking, challenging, exciting and all that. Somehow I've lost my spark for interviews. Starting to find them a bit tedious (though how I can say that when this is only my third position I am going for).
My CV is truthful. If I need to lie on my CV to go for jobs then I am going for the wrong ones.
Don't know how to put myself across any better. As I was talking I was saying in my head "Oh shut up - seriously quit now whilst you are ahead and tell the guy you do not match up to what they are looking for". Lo and behold I manage to warble on regardless. If I get through to the next round, well...... I'll........... I'll............ hmmmmmmm....... probably faint in shock. Then panic will set in as I'll be worried sick about the next stage and will probably go to pieces. Again, I'll look all super pro in my new suit. And there is nothing wrong in looking good in new kecks..i too have the same affect, but when i open my gob..i just yack for England. That way i get the job just to shut me up..
Good luck, i am sure you will get through to the next round.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

The latest installment.....
Hullo, Hullo, Hullo?
How goes it?
Considering I woke up to a very dark sky and a heavy downpour, I must say the day has turned out rather nicely. The sun is shining and the dog is subtley hinting that it is time to go for a walk!! Dog will have to wait until I finish on here and then we can get going. Dog is now sulking and skulking with distinct aurora of impatience!
As its Saturday and I have had time to reflect on the interview, I am feeling bit more chipper. What will be will be. Have decided that on Monday, I will try and see what temp or contract work is available and go for that. Seems the sensible thing to do.
Have given the horse the day off, and will do something tomorrow in terms of exercise for my leeeeetle equine buddy. Sharer seems to be working out ok and I am keeping the contributions ready to put straight to the my livery. If I bank it, then it will get swallowed up and that would be just stoooopid.
In today's post came my MoPay vouchers! A whole £22. Shall squirrel that away with my £20 from VO and my £3 LV from PC. So a whole £45 available to spend on presents. Not bad at all. Hope Mr GG does not notice that a couple of mobiles have gone walkies. In fact, I would be hugely surprised if he does notice!!!
Yesterdays post also arrived bearing gifts. Thanks to the freebies board. I received two Nivea samples (I love Nivea) and a Jordan's museli sample. Thumbs up for the Freebie board.
Mr GG gave me some money to go and buy a couple of drinks whilst we were out and about yesterday (made sure I bought ones that were on offer - MSE all the way Baby!), well, lo and behold in that cluster of coins was...... you guessed it.... a very shiny £2 coin. Have to admit that I got my sweaty paws on that quicker that you could say £2 collectors anonymous. Now I have £14 hidden away at home.
This week Mr GG fancied a takeway, did manage to suggest going to local supermarket to buy a takeaway for a fraction of the price, to which he was very agreeable. So takeaway cost hardly anything compared to that of a real takeaway and tasted just as good, and still a treat! Mr GG made a point of telling me the wine we were enjoying was a bargainous £4. His DFW training and MSE savvy shopping skills workshop courtesy of my continous moaning about the cost of the shopping is obviously paying off!! TBH I dont think he'd dare tell me he bought something expensive or that wasn't on a special offer. Our money is going further than it ever did before. Don't think I'll ever stop being MSE from now on in.
Have realised that even though I have had two previous LBMs, I wasn't really every quite ready for them. By that I mean, ready to act on it properly. Wish I had as then I think I'd only be getting rid of about £10k instead of £20+K, but then that's me. Don't do things by half. I remember this time around adding up the debt and when I hit equals on the calculator, I nearly fainted / screamed / puked all at once. I then knew I was in the do do. Big stylee.
Mr GG keeps reminding me that I am doing something about it, ok, so I am still only paying the minimums on my CC's, but one loan has almost finished. The main thing is that I am not using my CC. For me that really is progress. Before I was always playing catch up. Now I am living in the real world and slowly chipping away at the evil MBNA card. Not long now my beauty (well it will be quite awhile actually but what the heck) you will have a big fat zero balance! The shock of my third LBM was worth it.
Our house is roasting and the rad's are on!!! Yes, the heating is set to ON and I wonder how long that has been like that! Any money that was Mr GG. He is soooo getting to get told off when I see him later!
Met up with a friend that I have not seen for ages and she bought me a frothy coffee. Very kind of her. Then I repaid the favour as we were still chattering away and so I spent £4. Really enjoyed the catch up, so am considering the spend as therapeutic. Talking of spends, am doing well on my NSD's, nearly hit my target and quite a few days of April left.
Well, I went and bought an own brand instant coffee last week. Its really horrible. I can't drink it, its really that bad. Shall keep that for guests! On one hand it means I am not drinking any at home, so kind of non intentional detox. However, had managed to have 3 coffees away from home today, its no wonder I feel slightly icky. Caffeine overload. Walking the dog should blow the feeling away, or alternatively it may end up making me blow chunks. So attractive.
Spent a bit of money on horsey items this week, which obv ARE essentials - feed, fly spray (though going to make my own again I think). Resisted temptation of replacing holey jods even if there was 30% off.
Mr GG and I are off out tonight. One shall be donning one of one's new Primark tops with my bestest jeans, may even couple it with heels rather than boots. Will see how the mood takes me after I have showered and put my face on. Been ages since we have been out, so that will be nice.
In prep for my mad ebaying session this Thursday (thanks for the tip MrsC), I have taken photos of all my "wares". No doubt it will take me a couple of hours to upload it all. Not to mention I have noticed another CD cabinet that is choca-blocka of CDs, so will sneakily see what they are worth on Music Magpie. Would think not a lot, won't know till I have a look and that costs nothing to look, so would be foolish not to. Could be sitting on a gold mine and not know it!
Once this month's debt payments have flown out of my bank account, hope to be closer to the £21k marker. This time next year, I hope to be closer to the £15k marker. Said to Mr GG once we hit £10k each we should have a holiday. A Goose has got to have some kind of motivation in her life.
Better go and walk this dog!!!!!!! Or there will be a mutiny on my hands!
If you feel like spending, put your trainers on and go for a walk. Enjoy your local surroundings, walking is free and as you walk by other people's houses, remember they probably have their own secrets, they probably have debt or their own financial worries. Its amazing what goes on behind closed doors.
How many new DFW diaries have sprung up lately? Quite a few that's how many! Every day there is a new cry for help! Consider this, you have cried and now you've been helped. Having your LBM and acting on it essentially is a form of self help. You have seen the light and created your own stairway to heaven, each payment off the debt is a step to closer to your DFW dream and you've become a psychologist at the same time. Bargain or what!!!

Hi Mrs GG,
Have you ever thought of writing a book, your tales are hilarious! Well I have managed the gym this morning and now home on here so not spent a penny, apart from another type of spending pennies, LOL.
On the laptop but it's playing funny b*ggers, keeps cutting out on me when using the battery so having to keep it plugged in. I'm not very computer savvy so hopefully it will be ok.
Have a good day, it's lovely here too but a bit windy. x0
