oooh, well I've found what I think is my most recent letter thingy and as of the 11th of May I get another £40 p/w...phew, that makes things easier although I've got a feeling I earned more than I thought last year. I'll have to check properly when I'm at my main job tomorrow, I know the accountants been chasing it up anyway so will check in the morning and work it out. Hope not, £40 a week soon adds up.

  • I changed my circumstances on my tax credits 3 weeks running at one point, it's such a pain! Hoping it all worked out ok though and I don't owe them anything. :o

I wasn't paid right AGAIN  My missing 9 or so hours are still missing and i'm going shopping in a bit whether i have the money or not because I sooo need a pick me up atm. Going to be spending most of next week at docs and dentists trying to get myself fixed so if i want a couple of little treats today i'm bloody well going to have them! Although since I feel really bloated I probably wont go buying clothes and my feet hurt so I won't spend long mooching around; probably won't be buying alot then :rotfl: I would go get my nails done but my LO won't sit through that. £28 worth of nails = the same amount of happy endorphins as a £65 pair of shoes roughly so is kinda money saving

Sold a book on amazon last night, getting a fiver for it after fees and it cost me £1.85 to post but that £3.15 is £3.15 I didn't have before for 5mins of clicking and a trip to the PO (there wasn't even a queue, it was lovely) so not that bad really.

Going to try and ignore how stressed I am and get on with things, i've got enough to get done!

    Hi YM20,

Hope you're ok and no longer stressed?? I'm the same at the moment with clothes and have started a diet this week, so far so good, I think the food diary I'm keeping is really helping. We'll wait and see if I can last the weekend with no carp food and Iron Bru WKDs lol.

    Confession time...

I might possibly have added about £170 to my debt, £100 of it is half a washing machine AKA my mum's birthday pressie so I'm not THAT bad.

I signed up for a new credit card to get £12.50 cashback which came today, I intend(ed) to not use it but i'm finding it very hard to not go and buy the £400 42inch plasma tv (with free sky+ HD box) from tesco, I swear its calling to me and it is actually a bargain really, maybe, i don't know, I just want to buy it. I don't need or want sky though so I could sell the box and recoup some of the moneys and I will need a tv for when I finally get to move out so will have to spend lots at some point. I just don't know what to do. I cant use my little amount of savings because I need that to cover the rest of my driving lessons and I like to have some sort of back up. Anyway, trying to resist, i WILL resist. Maybe i should avoid Tesco for a while...

You will need a telly when you move though wont you, maybe it is worth picking up bargains now, as you see them. Just don't tell anyone I said that...I may get chucked off DFW!!!!

Or just avoid Tesco like you said lol

OK, i have a plan for the tv...

I've set up a payment that will go out tomorrow, using most of my savings and half of my piggy bank to (almost) pay off my Cap1 and then buy the tv on that card since it's actually better interest wise AND i won't be adding that much to my debt if i'm paying of nearly £300. I had to use my Cap1 a bit this week since my debit card isn't working for some reason and they're sending me a replacement, obviously we had to eat etc and the money is sat in my bank account so it's ok.

I figure if they're sold out etc by Fri then it just wasn't meant to be BUT I'll have paid off a chunk of my debt, which is nice.

It's sort of logically, with a hint of 'I WANT THAT MAHOOSIVE TELE'

If you want a tv go on john lewis web site and see whats on there as you get a free 5 year warrenty or try dixon.co.uk much cheaper than comet!!
Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.
  • I think you should not buy the tv, because it's just adding to your debt. But that's just my opinion ;)

Every day I see things that I would love to have, but can't because I can't afford them. For example the other day I saw an Audi R8 and thought, 'just imagine how many chicka-dinas I could pull with that pulling machine.' But clearly I'm not in that spending bracket so do without. 5 minutes later and I was thinking about something else. So its just a case of self discipline with me.

P.s. i'm not saying you shouldnt buy the tele, i'm just giving my opinion of what I'd do

I'v sat in one of them!! thts my ex bfs fantasy car so i paid for him to have a track day thing in one - he bought me a pole, for pole dancing and shoes, not sure who came off best lol.

I actually kinda don't wanna buy it now i'v spent the day looking at a nearly clear cc balance BUT i will NEED to buy a tele at some point soon and tht gorgeous 42inch plasma is roughly the same price as most 32inch LCDs even though its like better.
