Junk Mail - The Revenge

I was listening to Chris Evans on Radio 2 last night and heard a caller phone in to tell how he returns junk mail to the sender using the prepaid envelope they usually include. This means they have to pay the postage to have their junk returned to them. I've done something similar for quite a while although I collect brochures from local tourist attractions and send those off instead. I live in a tourist area so the way I see it I'm just doing my bit for the local economy. Who knows, the person who opens the mail at Barclaycard may really fancy a visit to the Conwy Butterfly Jungle!
However as the chap on the radio said if everyone starts doing this it might make some of these companies think twice before sending out so much junk. It will be a boost to the post office, safeguard the jobs of a few postmen and it might also create a few more jobs in the postrooms across the country. So please, MSErs, lets get together and turn the tables on the junk mailers.

Or, you could collect a few days worth of junk mail and use the pre paid envelopes to send back junk mail from other companies. That way they truly get junk mail as they will have no idea why you are , for instance, sending Barclaycard junk mail from Readers Digest.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Send them as much blank paper as will fit in the envelope so it's heavy and postage costs them more?0

I fancied a trip to the Conwy Butterfly Jungle last May, but it was closed, can you assure me that it will be open this Spring.
If not I'll just go to the most excellent Chippy, buy a pint at the Liverpool Arms and get dive bombed by the seagulls on the quayside.
Suppose I could go to the smallest house, but may be too large after eating all the chips.
So junk mail? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I don't know if its true but I've heard of a chap who wrapped up a brick and attached a post paid envelope to it and sent it back. Bet he went off their christmas card list quick.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

or you could just register with the mail preference service and not have to bother at all.0

Thats well worth doing, as this does (for us at the very least) cut out a large amount of junk mail. We used to get several items a day, now its down to 2 or so per week.
You can go one step further and contact the post office and ask to opt out of the unaddressed junk mail that the postman delivers. We get hardly anything as a consequence.

To cut down even further on junk mail, fit a lock the letter box. After the postie has been in the morning, simply lock the letterbox to prevent the mountain of pizza menus and solar panel flyers that come through the door.
Alternately, subscribe to as much junk mail as feasibly possible, and make briquettes for burning, saving one your heating bills:
