It was bike day - however a lot of other things went wrong!
We've got the bike and that bit is fab! It pelted down with rain at one point and OH still stayed dry cos he was kind of enveloped by the bike, and it has a faring (windscreen) on it and stuff.
However on the way there embarassingly we broke down on the motorway - had to call out the RAC. Was a bit scared standing there with the kids on the motorway!!! They came quite quickly but it needed a new alternator even tho a new one had been put on in July! We will be complaining to the dealer where we got it from and will try to make a claim under the warranty but we needed it fixed there and then! The people giving us the bike came and collected me and the kids and took us to their home and fed us while OH was getting the car fixed! They then let OH test ride the bike while me and the kids and his wife went to an icecream farm where we all met up.
On the way back from that we came across a really serious accident where the driver and passengers had severe injuries. Luckily I stayed in the car with the kids so didn't see it but OH and his friend went to help and apparently it was pretty gruesome!
We then had a quick coffee at their house before setting off! So basically today has gone from being perhaps an 8 hour round trip with time with friends in the middle to a complicated 12 hour day!
OH is thrilled to bits with the ride and the comfort and everything tho. Still can't believe the generosity of people OH had only met once before! shows there are still very good people in this world!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

well church went okay... Sent OH to get us some rotisserie chickens - so got some frozen roasties cooking now to go with it. Resisted pub temptation as cost would be signficantly more

Well OH randomly applied and got accepted for a new card the other day - so will be able to move £3200 from CC3 in Jan to the new card.... Ideally then need to clear about £1500 on that card in Dec and Jan so rate doesn't jack up massively! Then target CC4 in Feb! Unfortunately tho - the 3% charge on transferring the debt will initially make it feel like I've paid very little off but have to live with that sometimes to be a successful "credit card tart":rotfl:!savingholmes wrote: »Car -4000 interest free (family loan) no set payment schedule

HP -320 interest free finishes approx Aug 2010 £40 pcm
CC 2 -1865 interest free until July 2010
CC 3 -4727 interest free until Jan 2010 priority to try and tart next as will then go to 15% approx
CC 4 -285.35 9.98% interest rate got jacked and didn't realise in time- if tart CC3 successfully would look to pay this off in a single month

Sounds like you had a bit of a day. Glad kids didn't see casualties. Must have been another tiring day and quite stressful - but with a bit of a happy ending of dh getting his bike. Glad he is enjoying it - boys and their toys.
Not very productive on the housework front here - had good intentions but the sun was shining and we decided to go out instead - can do housework next week if its raining
Hope you have a few shorter days travelling next week
