the motorbike he's been offered is:
BMW K1200LT 1171cc Colour "Champagne"
First registered 1999, only one owner
No mods
Factory fit Cruise control, heated seats, heated handlebars, bike computer (temp, avg. speed, miles in tank, Fuel consumption)
New headlight bulb (Phillips 30+% brighter (apparently).
Even 10 years old it seems to be worth a few grand compared to OH's old suzuki which would be worth a couple of hundred if we were lucky. To have heated handlebars and a heated seat is a dream come true for him. He's always wanted something like this but has always had to set his sights much lower. It does make me feel potentially happier about us only having one car if he can have a bit more comfort during the winter!
Can't wait until we can arrange a time to pick it up! OH says it feels like xmas and he wants to cry with happiness - Bless!

This is what I posted in March 2009savingholmes wrote: »Well long term debts £16.8K checked out my status on what's the cost when I got home! 2 x CC and 1 loan. On-going payments £140, £25 and £40 as minimum payments.
Saving pot 1 £1406 and Saving pot 2 £2324 so about £3730. Our net debt after savings is about £13K which does sound much better
Well after 6 months mostly unemployed my figures are now:
Still have Saving pot 1 of approx £1.4 or £1.5K:j(should be a bit more now plus we still have about £1.5K of savings we are living off in our bank account)
Car -4000 interest free (family loan) no set payment schedule
CC 1 -3753 interest free until Nov 2010
HP -320 interest free finishes approx Aug 2010 £40 pcm
CC 2 -1865 interest free until July 2010
CC 3 -4727 interest free until Jan 2010 priority to try and tart next as will then go to 15% approx
CC 4 -285.35 9.98% interest rate got jacked and didn't realise in time- if tart CC3 successfully would look to pay this off in a single month
approx -£14951 incl car
Net debt after savings -£13544
without the effect of the car (which we only got when our others broke in July) we would be at -£9544 net debt so it shows we have paid off approx £3.5K while I have been unemployed altho that was from a combination of a one off bonus and savings I'd made while employed!
Can't wait for first pay cheque to start paying things off again properly. Keep having to remind myself tho that I am planning to spend nearly £200 :eek:on a bed for DS out of that first month's money plus another £100 :eek:or so on motorbike boots for OH. That might mean I can only use £700 rather than a grand on debt repayments....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

DH's travelling home has been appalling this week too. Took him from 5pm til 6.45pm to get home...it's only about 11miles! Really hoping next will be better, after the bonfire party traffic crush dissipates and the lunatics get used to winter being both dark and wet...:rolleyes:savingholmes wrote: »Journey home yesterday and today was atrocious - really hope it picks up!
:j:j:j That's amazing!! :T:T:Tsavingholmes wrote: »OH got a fantastic offer yesterday - someone he met for the first time !!!! had bought a new bmw motorbike and they offered him their 10 year old bmw tourer style motorbike. :jHe thought probably didn't mean it but they sent him an email when he got home confirming. Even at 10 years old it is very close to his dream bike so if he gets it that will be fab! They've said he is free to sell it if it isn't what he wants and use the money to fund a new one!!!! Amazing !!!! Will hopefully mean that the £100 we were due to spend on a new tyre for his old one we won't need to spend! We may also be able to sell his old one and get something for it!!!:j:j
Definitely!! Really pleased for you, but mostly him! Poor soul must be crying tears of joy just at the thought of a warm bum!!:rotfl::Asavingholmes wrote: »the motorbike he's been offered is:

Hi - well I decided to use my winnings from this week to buy my DD's some new footwear! She's managed to end up wiht some high heeled!! black boots - that I would be delighted with if they fit me!! Some flowered pink wellies and some trainers as she wants to give football a go and she doesn't have any (she had heelie equivalents rather than real trainers lol)
Luckily Brantanos are doing a new for old offer so got £10 off! I've also bought her some more pink high heels in the next size as an extra xmas present....!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
