I second that motion.....keep the DFW site nice and friendly! Good day all, England making a good start in the 5th Test, Lockerbie bomber to be sent back to Libya so they can pay for his end of life care and treatment instead of the British taxpayer, the annual moans have started about A-levels being too easy...just another typical August newsday. And I got wet doing some shopping. Enjoy the rest of Thursday, people! One life - your life - live it!0

Me too - absolutely drenched - and now the sun is 'cracking the cobbles'. :rolleyes:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Bump up from 2.
I like a happy friendly board.
I agree Nargle, what is it with the whole easy A level debate every single year, if they really had got easier for at least the last 15 years they have been reporting this story then I reckon my 2year old second cousin (or maybe shes a 1st cousin once removed??) will be getting 6straight A at A levels next year. Then of course they move on to the whole 'diploma' debate, which to be fair has only been going about 7years....:rolleyes:A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I also like a happy friendly board.
The A level debate has been going on since time immemorial - if they're moaning about that they are keeping other more important things out of the news:rolleyes:
I too got rained on when I went to the bank this morning and by the time I had walked to the postoffice the pavements were drying and I was steaming:eek:0 -

Totally agree, H - why can't we just accept the fact that students are getting better results.
Mind you, the 'A' level students in Torquay are going to be disappointed:

Perhaps with A levels its not that the exams are getting easier but that only those who have a chance of passing are entering, and that they are actually working hard all year?Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

When I was doing my A levels we made do with a glass of lemonade and some straws:eek: I didnt bother finishing my A levels because they were boring: Economics (the guy I sat next too became the Head of the Institute of Fiscal Studies), General Studies (waste of space subject), French (the whole class was conducted in English), and Latin - although I did get an AO level in Human Biology (an A level studied in one year - I am sure it was an experimental qualification:rotfl:).0

Welcome back to civilisation Numpty. Of course you will have to go back down again to bring some culture and refinement to the deprived south...
Further to the A level debate, it takes 2 years to put a student through an A level. That is a lot of time and money and work and effort on the part of the pupil/teachers/education system etc so it makes sense only to put people in for an A level if they have a fairly good chance of passing it! So why the surprise at all the passes???? Maybe the moaners need an A level in the bleeding obvious...One life - your life - live it!0 -
