Hello all,
jusy popping in for a last bump before I fly away to the sun :j.
All packed, the home is so clean you could eat off the floor & I wonder why it doesnt always look like that.
I'm with you on the internet shoping Horace & Tixy, as regards dates & feeling & smelling it all. Also, when I first tried it took me na hour just to go throught the list. I can get to either Tatco or Waitrose, do my shopping & be home again all in an hour & post my letters & pop to cashpoint all on the way. My neighbour with one toddler & 2 twins has it delivered & quite right too, small people that scream should be banned from any form of shopping:rotfl:Of course, if Rog was available in my area then I would feel differently
Will miss you alltake care of yoursleves & keep on bumping

I have to say I only tried internet food shopping a couple of times, I didn't like the short dates on the food. In the supermarket if the date is too short on dairy products that I know I won't eat them in time I either reach to the back for a later date or don't buy it.
I am not trying to 'defend' home shopping - the 'pickers' are supposed to check dates and to pick the products with the longest dates, but they are always working under pressure and will not always be able to do so. I have several customers who 'check' the sell by dates on all of their perishable items before they will sign for them - bless 'em.
I don't mind - I don't carry any spare 'stock', but always 'refund' anything that they are not happy with. If they miss something, they can always phone the store and will be given a card refund without question.
That said, we don't nor ever will shop for our own groceries on line. :rolleyes:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Not sure that I would be impressed if I saw me arriving at my door, either, H. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have spent so much time 'fending off a Troll' on the Bankruptcy Board, that I allowed this thread to slip half way down page 2.

Tixy - fruit liqueur recipe.
For every one pound of fruit, add half a pound of sugar and one pint of your chosen spirit. Put in large jar on a window sill, turn every day to dissolve the sugar. leave for about 4 - 6 weeks then decant into bottle(s). Enjoy!
Works nicely with strawberries and vodka, raspberries and white rum, oranges and brandy, lemons and vodka(bit like limoncello). I imagine blackberries would go nicely with almost any spirit. Get cracking now then that will be Christmas booze sorted! One life - your life - live it!0 -
Yum Nargle - thanks - I am lazy though
I wait for Mom to make hers and then 'borrow' a bottle, you know that sort of 'borrowing' that you can get away with when its your parents :rotfl:. I think hers has a mix of vodka and brandy, I know because I have been requested to pick up cheap brand vodka and brandy in the past.
Well done on the troll bashing Rog:jA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
