If anyone is still reading not scanning then I hope everyone is well (and PS apple & blackcurrant crumble is best, and sweeter)

I know, Tixy, and the 'Bramleys' are looking good this year - something to do with all the rain we've had  - we have used some of the 'fallers' but they could, really, do with another couple of weeks on the tree. By that time, hopefully, the blackberries will be ripening - I picked about five kilos last year in our local 'country park' - enough for many a good 'crumble' and some home made jam. :T

Problem is, though, that you have to get up pretty early as everyone seems to know about the blackberries.

Morning Numpty (and everyone else, of course). :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well I actually sometimes make cheat's crumble before the proper season by which I use some of last years blackberry & apple jam as the base and just put the crumble on top.

I am lucky that my parents have lots of blackberries round their fields so don't have to fight others for them (well except the dogs who will stand and eat lots of blackberries straight off the lowest brambles).

Blackberry liquer is pretty good too (although I haven't learnt how to make it yet)

(oops I meant blackberries not blackcurrants of course, must have been tired last night).

Morning all..I have a visitor, who once again commandeered my laptop, anyway he has now gone to do some work - he was quite excited as this job means siezing goods:D When he comes home, he will charge the battery on the car and take me shopping to Tesco (I have a load of vouchers to use). He did moan yesterday as I had cooked dinner and gave him a man-sized portion but it wasn't a leo-sized portion as he is just a pig (his dinner plates are like serving platters:eek: and as a result he wastes an awful lot of food), all he did was grumble because I didnt have any chocolate or even any crisps or snacks - I said that I hadnt been shopping for nearly 2 months (other than to get bread and milk). I refuse to shop online because I like to see my food, touch it and smell it before I buy it.

That's not it rog - if I do my own shopping then I can choose what I want to buy and in the quantities I want whereas if I shopped online I would have to have what the supermarket says I should have.

I have to say I only tried internet food shopping a couple of times, I didn't like the short dates on the food. In the supermarket if the date is too short on dairy products that I know I won't eat them in time I either reach to the back for a later date or don't buy it.

I like to shop in lots of different shops for the best bargains or tastiest fruit, plus I like my fruit & veggies off the market on a Saturday morning.

Any chance of your visitor cooking for you as well as taking you shopping Horace? Mind you it sounds like he'd cook far too much of everything so maybe not a good idea.

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Time for lunch - said Zebedee. :o
