    Hi all

In fact I had a thought last night that Cartiphilus and Merlin were one and the same - as Merlin has been posting things previously to test if people would respond:rolleyes:

Anyway I am back now from a lovely morning at a local stately home - I was given a lovely goody bag in the form of a red & white spotted cooler bag that contained half a pound of sausages, some biscuits, a book, an insulated mug, a golf ball, a trolly token, a toy car, some other thing that looks like a button but it has no use whatsoever, a square of chocolate, some conference bumpf, a bottle of salad dressing and a book about edward elgar:cool: The mate for whom I wangled an invitation in an attempt to cheer her up won a bloomin night for 2 in a 4 star hotel on a DB&B basis - muggins won nowt:rolleyes:

Sounds like a great haul you got there Horace. :j

Only a few days ago someone suggested to Merlin that perhaps he would be better to start again on DFW with a new user name, (this after some of his more vitriolic posts). Lets hope Cartiphilus recommends thats what he does this if he decides to post on MSE in the future .
Might help if once under said new user name he doesn't constantly edit and delete lots of his posts - as this might be a giveaway .

I have just had another rummage in my new cooler bag and found some vouchers:

Some I won't be able to use at all - offering me discounts on meeting rooms etc but there is one that I can definitely use - a two for the price of one ticket on entrance to Ragley Hall:D I am a bit miffed though that the event didnt go to plan and we were shepherded around - we had to leave at 2.30 as my mate had to take her daughter to the dentist so we missed Philip Serrell giving a talk.

Yes..Merlin would be better posting under a new username and needs to stop constantly editing and deleting his posts. Its a pity that he is ill.

    Bump from 3!

I was suitably chastised and did my work Horace! Although must work harder tomorrow to make up. Please feel free to kick me off the forum if anyone sees me tomorrow day!

    Found on page 2.

I am feeling a tad sick (too much rich food) and feeling sleepy and bloated (my tummy is fatter than normal - no I am not preggers before anyone asks).

I think that your 'thought' has been well and truly 'proven' to be correct, H. ;)

Have a look at the thread, now fortunately 'locked', that he started on the Bankruptcy forum:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1730895

Incidentally, as 'Cartiphilus' is, to say the least, an unusual username I decided to 'Google' it. Not many results - mostly messages to say the the poster was banned from some odd forums.

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

A timely reminder - as if we need it. ;)
