I'm not a doormat. I said maybe we could do with some breathing space & she agreed.

Emily - nobody is anybody's doormat - you were there for your friend, and did everything that could be expected - and more. :T :T

You are both going through difficult times and, hopefully, things will look better in the cold light of day.

    Good luck.

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

And we'd better have another one of these.

J'en suis sûre, cher Roger, que tels français qui y lisent ici, ne portent aucun commentaire contraire, mais que leurs verres, pour un petit coup.

Moi aussi, ampersand - heureusement qu'ici on est 'entre amis'.

At least you can have a rant here - breathing space from your friend maybe just the ticket, she is hormonal and you're not on top form with the cold. I am sure that when she has settled down and is feeling lonely and needs some help she'll soon be calling:rolleyes:

As for DH - I think his illness and the fact that you are feeling a tad run down isnt helping but things will sort themselves out, spending time together if you can will help too or maybe even doing some things just for you.

rog - what is all this speaking in tongues? Anyway Je Suis Un Rockstar:p

Poor you Emily- rant away. Regarding your friend - like Rog says I'm sure you will get throught this and it is just a case of you both being run down. But I do feel for you running round and exhausting yourself and then not being appreciated.

Regarding DH - I don't know what to say so (((hugs))), I hope you can sort things out. Maybe it is just the stress of moving house and of course his treatments. If you do decide you can't then although it will be hard you will get through it and you will be okay - it seems like MSE'rs are resilient people and I'm sure you are too. And you've always got here to rant to or moan to or ask advice from.

Good luck and look after yourself as well as hubby and your friend and godson. Sometimes you have to put yourself first.

What were we saying earlier about trolls - we talk about them and they appear:mad: We have a spammer advertising silly sites such as toadtastic and another one for spammers, Sarah (and a load of numbers) is her name and she has been reported:D

The prolific spammer has gone away of her own accord but she hasn't been PPR'd yet. Anyone know what PPR's stands for (i tried thinking up offensive and silly options but really need F's in the title for most of them) - and is it just the abuse team that does it and not BGs?

    Goodnight all
