Sincere apologies mpepperhouse, in no way do I consider myself superior to you (or anyone else posting here..):
Simply thought that if someone thought a weekly rent would be fair and reasonable at £211 rather the £195 (or lower, one might argue) that it should be - a difference of at least £16 a week - then a wee "investment" of £4:88 and some time reading the book might save someone more money in a week that the cost of the book.
Sorry if you took this any other way..
I own a few "Dummy" books myself - and very useful I've found them, and am quite happy to recognise in many areas I am a dummy: Please note my new signature
Best wishes with your flat hunting

It can be confusing for folk who may be new to renting. Mpepperhouse - some rentals will be per lunar month (see Notlob's.. ahem ..joke above) ie every 28 days/4 weeks, but it is more usual when rent is paid by standing order to pay per calendar month/4.33 weeks so that the "rent due" date falls on the same date each month.0

God what an idiot.
You should stay at home with Mum.0 -
It is a very common mistake and people shouldn't be disparaged from seeking advice when their questions are genuine and they are learning something.
Generally, multipling by 12 and dividing by 52 is what is used to convert from monthly to weekly - for the sake of simplicity I suppose. Although, the tenancy agreement will state how much the rent is and you can calculate it over any period you like.
Some rents are charged 4 weekly of course. Amazing the number of people who are not even sure if their rent is 4 weekly or monthly or the significance of the difference.0 -
Pepperhouse,
There are 12 calendar months in a year, and 13 lunar months in a year.
Your rent comes to £10,140 per annum.
If you pay your rent weekly at £195 then multiply it by 52 it comes to £10,140 per annum
If you pay your rent EVERY 4 WEEKS at £780 it comes to £10,140 per annum
If you pay your at £845 per calendar month it comes to £10,140 per annum.
So you can either pay 12 lots of £845 or 13 lots £780.
