I ordered the washing up liquid the day before yesterday and was worried it might get cancelled as some people have had that happen. I've just received my despatch email and checked the HDN website and they are partying at the Spa!!!!

Arggh...just had a majorly stressful Bootsing trip. I got one of the highlighter vouchers (didn't get the glycolic peel one though which I was so hoping for) and tried to use it...big mistake! Cue protracted conversation at tills, absolutely furious staff and utter stress. All because I wanted to use the voucher for the free highlighter!

I tried it with the two No7 and was told no, not valid as part of deal and that is why it beeped. So, went and ran bought another item and was told no, not valid. Then manager said it couldn't be used. I asked what can it be used with as it says free with any No7 and if you tell me what I can use it with then i can maybe get that? No, You can't use it with anything they tell me. I try the.. but why did acm give me it then and i don't understand, but you could practically see the steam rising from their heads! Was told it can't be used at all, it is useless. So the merrygoround of a conversation went on and SA was very disapproving when I asked if someone could maybe call HO and see what I could use it with. They were literally really angry with me for wanting to find out how to use the voucher and i couldn't have been more apologetic (although really I had nothing to apologise for when you think about it) and nicer. Apparently they had the same problem earlier and just sent the person away and said no you can't use.

In end I bought one No7 item and was told I couldn't have highlighter. But I stood my ground and after much ado they told me they would just give me it but really the voucher was useless and couldn't be used because of the offers on. I do wonder if it was worth it though..and how it makes you feel afterwards.

Haven't snipped this much, cos if MrB's spies are reading this, I want them to read this again - and be thoroughly ashamed!
I am really sorry for you for such a horrid shopping trip - well done for standing your ground - but that really was a ridiculous scenario!
I'm rather behind on my catching up, so perhaps other Bootsers read your post and advised you to ring Customer Services and complain - and perhaps you have - but you have my full sympathies - it's at times like this that I think we should perhaps start a S*p*rdr*g Thread!!

    Hi Jazzteddy
the NO7 GWP's are meant to be on 342 if you can find 3 + use perkie then you also get 3 x 250 points vouchers from inside.. good luck with whatever you do with your last perkie... oh btw .. I was in Boots today + noticed in the mens fragrances JAZZ + I thought of you ( not being a man .. your name :D )
    Angel x
    Hi Angel:hello:
I went into an 'Alliance' shop today and lo and behold, they had the latest No7 gwp's on sale for £6.50 each. :T
So its worth checking out your local store to get these ladies.;)
They also had the gold xmas No7 gwp for the same price.
    So your 3 4 2 combo would have made it £13.00 for 3 gwp's,
less a Perkie, leaving £8 to pay
giving you 3 x 250 points vouchers to use on skincare, making 750 points in total.

I did think about it, but I wanted to get some of the No7 Perfect Lip Laquer,
as I use that and also try out the 'Humiliating Powder Voucher'.
But they didn't have either of those, so I left the gwps for someone else to find :A ( as I do have a few already :o;):D )
I actually think that the gwps are good value for £6.50, especially with a Perkie. I only have 1 lonely last Perkie to use.

As for the mens fragrance and me not being a man (OH will be pleased)....(lol!) at least my cyber name gave you a giggle.
I know someone who loves Jazz and it does smell quite nice, don't think they do one for lady Jazzteddies though. :)

The only thing I bought today was a reduced Boots travel radio for £2.50, which I paid for with points.
Not sure how much they are normally but I expect it would have been at least £10 or so.
  • I off to Drake's Circus, Plymouth tomorrow. Haven't been since before Christmas, so quite excited at being able to trawl around a decent size Boots. Sad I know.

Can anyone advise where the clearance section is and what bargains I should be looking for? Many thanks
A little thanks now and again would be nice.;)

Sorry if this has been posted already but I just went on.com and put three of the Age Rewind Intensive Serums in my basket. They are currently £5 off and 342 so you end up getting all three for £19.20 instead of £17.10 each!! Presumably because it's even taking the fiver off the freebie!

    Em xXx
:D Mummy to two gorgeous LO's and always in search of a bargain!!! :D

I phoned CS yesterday about the Fujifilm Finepix J10 that someone here said they had got for £39 as it was 'end of line'. It was still £78.xx in Maidstone. CS confirmed that it was discontinued, but that the decision as to whether to reduce the price was at manager discretion.

    snipped

I read this the other day too and phoned my local large branch to see if they had any in stock and luckily they did!:j So asked them to reserve it for me and I would hop on bus to come and collect. I also asked if it was the £39 one just to be doubly sure as didn't want to trek in and find it wasn't!
Anyhoo off I toddled, got to the counter and asked for camera, the SA brought it out no probs! :T
Went to till to pay and then thought - better check it is all there and asked SA to open it - everything seemed to be in order, box a bit bashed but that was fine. Then put AC in as was paying with points ;) and the SA said "Oh sorry but you haven't got quite enough points!"
I knew I had enough for £39 so checked the display and it said £78.**!
Oh I said it is supposed to be £39 - and mentioned that had reserved it on phone and had had it confirmed as that price. SA was lovely and went off to check (could have just said no sorry till says not!) - the SA I had spoken to on phone said that he hadn't checked the price as he had assumed that I knew what I was talking about . I mentioned that I had made a special trip in to collect (nicely) and wouldn't have if I had known it was not reduced so the first SA very kindly went to check with manager and I was allowed to have it at the reduced price! Price was overridden to £39 and I paid with my points and went home a very happy bunny, clutching my fab camera! :j

Just need to get some decent glasses so can see the instructions on how to use it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh also checked out ACM and got a humiliatiing voucher, went to no 7 counter and got the powder, 3 reduced stayperfect lipsticks (342) and meal deal, then went to SS tills to pay as nearest.
No one at the tills when I started but queue soon built up as I scanned the
    meal deal - no probs
    lippies 342 no probs
    powder £10 ok

then pressed finish & pay and coupon but then the humiliation started.....
till beeped that deal not met so SA came over and read voucher, said deal not met but I pointed to my no 7 lippies and said that the no 7 SA said would work with these (which she had) so SA got another SA and they overrode the price to 0.00 and put the voucher in till.
Asked if I was ok to carry on. Yes, fine thanks I said and merrily proceeded to whip out my last perkie and scan it, forgetting to press finish and pay first ! Arrggghhh!
    :o:o
Till froze and SA came over again, couldn't get it to work and said she would sort me out at the normal tills and off we toddled......
Scanned everything then realised my humiliating voucher was in the SS till so had to find the other SA and then another SA with keys to retrieve it out of the SS tills and try to scan it ...... Guess what! :p
Yup it wouldn't scan! Another SA huddle and conversation about vouchers that don't scan and cause them problems, and the price was overridden to 0.00 again and perkie scanned and finally I had my goodies! I legged it out of there like I was being persued by the hounds of hell!!
    :rotfl:
Oh forgot to mention I got a pooey till spit after all that too!
Anyhow I think this is the last of my Bootsing for a while, until I get a new hairstyle and hair colour, lose a lot of weight and have a face lift so am not recognised there again! :o;)

Sorry for long post but it was a bit of an experience!
Have to say that the SA's were lovely though - could have not bothered but they took the trouble to sort things out for me and didn't make any horrible comments or roll eyes etc.
    :T :T :T for the SA's

Hope you have survived reading this! I am off to try going cold turkey .....

Well Birmingham High Street had no humiliating powders - bet they have cleared the shelves and they will appear back again

Got a R and M purple eye liner pen - £10.50 - used perkie and 500 points from mailing and £5 love to shop voucher -s o 50 to pay and 500 points back

The as had 1 last perkie - got

Time Delay Cleansing balm - 6.84 - used £1 off Time Delay from ACM
    No 7 wipes - 6.40 - so 1.40 with perkie
boots Original beauty formula rose skin tonic - free on 3 for 2 and used 100 points from ACM machine when you buy OBF skin care
    dove deoderants reduced from 1.95 - 1.29
Bourgois tweasers - 2.93 - used £2 off voucher from till spit

    So total spend 10.75
Points received - 100 offer, 4 extra from Dove (don't know why it wasn't 8 - supposed to be double points) and 40 normal

So in total spent £16.25 (with a £5 voucher) - saved £19.xx and got 644 points

Not bad considering not much seems to be working at the moment
