tefal quick cup kettle

Its a love or hate machine it seems, with reliability issues.
We got one after I had an op and was not allowed to lift a kettle, and now most of the family has one.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
We've had one of these since just after christmas and we live in a very hard water area and was quite impressed that the filter lasted 2 months!
i'm trying to remember where i bought the filters from, but i can't for the life of me remember!! - may have been amazon, i know it was less than a tenner for 2 filters !!
But the other day my oh went to make a cuppa (of tea) and it gave out luke warm water, so we read the instruction manual that said giving out cold water may mean it needs descaling, so we did as instructions said, still no hot water, descaled again, still cold water, so we emailed tefal and got a reply the same day to say to try resetting the temp after descaling by pressing the hot water button 4 times in quick succession, and this worked !!
they said in the email that it had been 'forgotten' in the manual!!
i agree it doesn't give boiling water, but i'm a coffee drinker and i have to wait for it to cool down when done in an ordinary kettle.
the oh would have a teabag put in the kettle given half a chance, but we lie the fact you only heat what you use and theres no waiting for it to heat up.0 -
These are so not worth DO NOT buy one.
I have gone through 2 the first one blew up after a week and the sencondone i took back after a month as it looked ot be going the sameway. The water is no good for tea and is a pain for bigger cups. And it you live in hard water area is a big no no.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

Even so, it's an alarming fault for a kettle to be prone too! If I hadn't been in the room I could have returned to an inferno  I often press the button and wander off to do something else. It actually caught fire pretty fast and it was just lucky that I had a sink full of water at the time (I was washing up).We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Ok folks, I got mine in and the verdict?.....BRILLIANT!!!!!
The water is steaming when it comes out, my other half is a tea jenny and he was really impressed with it. Id certainly recommend it.xxx:beer:0 -
My sister had one of these and loved it at first. It lasted 16 months and was used everyday. You keep having to buy filters for them which is an ongoing expense. She believes they are ok for people that live on their own but not for heavy family use. The buttons wore out!0

When you say it 'blew up' what do you mean? - that it stopped working?
and how does the second one look like it was going the same way, how does something look like its gonna blow up ??
Bigger cups ?? our tefal fills i mug to the perfect level for that, and if you want more just press and hold the button for a few seconds.
I have to disagree with you here, i live in north herts, and if i run a glass of water from the tap it comes out cloudy thats how hard/chalky our water is and the tefal is fine, the filters lasts at least a couple of months, which i think is great !! we bought our tefal in dec and we are only on the 2nd filter now.0 -
I saw this thread and brought one off of them, and was disspointed to find that when it arrived the filter had broken out of it completely! Seems they will replace it but I have to pay for the P&P which won't be cheep! supose you get what you pay for!0

If it arrived faulty you dont have to pay postage, or if you do then they should refund it.0

Tefal is definitely the best - have a small kettle from them - i dont think its the same one, but defo a good one0
