    We've just got rid of ours too. It just doesn't get hot enough :mad:

  • Note that it does not say it provides "BOILING" water, only hot. Useless.

    Just like cheapo coffee machines they just don't do the job properly.

    SIL had one.... well actually she had 8 of them as they would work for a couple of days then not heat the water. She finally gave up and got a refund.

    We've had ours for 18 months now - no trouble whatsoever.
    For tea - I'll admit that you really should use boiling water to infuse the leaves properly - so you will notice a slight taste change.
    For coffee - this is perfect - you really shouldn't use boiling hot water for making coffee, as it can give the coffee a bitter taste

    The French don't relate Tea making with boiling water and afaik never have done., ;)

    I've got one of these kettles ..... if you love a cuppa tea then buy a normal kettle. I've yet to be able to make a decent cuppa with this .... and as for filling up a saucepan with boiling water ... you could be there for a very long time pressing the button!
