A few years back my mum applied for credit cards etc in my name without my knowledge and ran up debt on them, then defaulted on them. I went mental when I found out. I think that she has been paying something to them though since defaulted.
Of course, they are showing on my credit report, is there anyway of getting the debt/records of them removed from my credit report without getting my mum into trouble?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give.
Sorry, I misread your original post..and that it was you that accumulated the debt in your mum's name.
 Ignore my previous post......apologies! 0 0

Thanks for that link, I'm not sure that it applies to me though, the debts are all in my name on my report, my mum isn't mentioned anywhere on it or even as a financial association.
Yeah, I misread too. Getting a bit carried away tonight. Apologies. So ignore where I said about going to her address and so on. Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way. Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. No it's ok, I'm beginning to get muddled up too lol.
Since the credit report shows the addresses of the lenders etc, what would happen if I was to write to them saying the debt was not mine, I mean, something must have been signed, but not by me.
What would the situation be with that though?0

Not sure. It's immensely complicated. But, again, it would be your mother's signature on the documents? I've got overexcited you see because I have a neurological condition, and I very often ignore the stages leading up to it, knowing full well what is coming next if you like ... so get carried away at times. Very complicated medical things.
I honestly wish there was more I could do. Because I can see it will cause a lot of heartbreak.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Your medical thingys sound complicated too lol thanks for making me smile tonight - needed it!
I just don't want to cause problems even though I've been mucked about0

Know what you mean. I am very bad at taking my own advice. I never complain, because of what it could mean. Or because sometimes it's 'more trouble than the worth of it'. Today, for example, trying to get to the bottom of certain things. You never end up speaking to the correct person, they aren't trained in that area, don't know, pass you on. Mind, I didn't give up, not this time anyway and persisted until I spoke to the right person. All sorted now. But, no, I know what you mean about things in that direction. Problems etc.
Oh, the medical thingy? I don't understand it, either. Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Hi,
Just thought I should keep you up todate, my bank manager has helped me to draft a letter to each of the 3 credit reference agencies stating that the debts are not mine, she said that I didn't even have to mention the fact that I knew whose debts they were.
She said that it was "my right" to have those debts which are not mine removed and that I should advise the credit reference agencies to remove them so that my report was "true" and "accurate" (two very important words to be used when writing to them) - if anyone else is having same problems I hope my experience can be of some help to others.0

            Hi,
Just had two individual letters back from Experian.
One of the entries I was asking to have removed was shown as a default but that it was Satisfied, the company involved has advised Experian that they are unable to amend/delete the entry in question at the current time. Also that the company involved had requested that I contact them directly regarding this matter, if I wish, I can include with my correspondence to them any documentation to support my comments."
What should I say in a letter to them? Also, I have no evidence of any sort.
The other letter concerning another entry on the report advised that Experian had been contacted by the company involved and that they had confirmed that the details held were accurate and requested that Experian retain the information.
They have again suggested I contact the company involved - what should I say in a letter to them?
Sorry for the long post - just a bit stressed.
Any help would be greatfully received.
 Thanks0

Am just thinking, how can these companies say these things are accurate when I've already stated that they're not?0
