    Ok, its Saturday :j

And Saturday means a weekly payment to the VAT. I should only have one or two..maybe three weeks of big payments to them then i can reduce it to £200 pw :p

So today is my PaD of £500  to VAT. I want to make sure i can pay them all that is due for this quarter then i can merrily pay them a regular amount from June. At least i know i am no longer in arrears and that is such a relief.

Have a great day everyone xxx

    £1.16 to a cc.

In their infinite wisdom, Abbey have decided to reduce my overdraft from £1,800 to £700 from July 1st. I could have done without this at the moment. I have been gradually becoming less dependant on the overdraft this year but still do need to dip into it from time to time and recently needed to go about a grand over for a few days while cheques were clearing in my business account. Credit where it's due. At least they gave given 6 weeks notice. My term assurance policy with them may have to be dumped to pay for it. If I do dump it, I shall make sure they know why I've done it. I have no dependents. All it would mean is that if I were to die prematurely - say within the next 7 years - I would leave a zero estate to people who don't financially depend on me anway. They charge me an extortionate amount anyway due to medical and lifestyle issues that are ancient history.

Yoy don't like your having a very good time of it just now, hope all gets better soon!

    Hi Lemma

I was wondering the other day exactly what your self-employment/company is? You seem to pay an awful lot of VAT and Tax.

Care to give me a clue?

    EE

P.S To everyone else I have not made a PAD this week because I am waiting for my washing machine to be fixed. It's a Dyson and we think the pump has gone so it's gonna be expensive!!
Instead of adding it to the credit card I am hoping to pay it with cash/debit card(not overdraft!!)

    Morning All!

Went bowling last night..my back is killing me! I'm really rubbish at bowling but on my last throw. in the last game....I GOT A STRIKE!! That might not seen like a big achievement to anyone who is good at the game but it's an awesome thing to happen to me! :D

We also went for a chinese buffet before we went bowling and I'd never been to this place so wasn't sure what anything was. I ended up with a random selection of stuff on my place and thought I was going to go into labour...nearly everything I chose had some form of chilli in it!

Anyway, my pad fpr today is another £5 to Bank of Scotland....I'm currently saving to pay off Barclays in one go (or at least half :D) so I've got a secret stash of loose change but I'm not padding it until I've reached my total!!

It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it
becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping
as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at
them. Some are over-sensitive, and there's nothing worse than an
    over-sensitive woman.

My name is Jim. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my
wife, Christine. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary
for Christine to get a full-time job along with her part-time job,
both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.

Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show
her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she
gets home from work and although she knows how hungry I am, she almost
always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts
dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and
just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I
    generally have lunch
in the Men's Grill at the club so eating out twice is not reasonable.
I'm ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door.
She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's
not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after
dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times
each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really
appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done
    before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example she will
say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills
during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so
I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out
over two or even three days. That way she won't have to rush so much.
I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't
hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of
    my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest
periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished
mowing the lawn. I try not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I tell her
to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade
and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for
herself, she may as well make one for me too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support
Christine.. I'm not saying that showing this much consideration is
easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will even find it
impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating

women get as they get older.

However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less
criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will
consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put

on this earth to help each other.

    Signed,
    Jim

    EDITOR'S NOTE:
Jim died suddenly on May 27 of a perforated rectum. The police report
says he was found with a Calloway extra long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver
II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip
showing and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife Christine was
arrested and charged with murder. The all-woman jury took only 15
minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defense that Jim
somehow, without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

    Hello everyone :)

It's gonna be a busy saturday for me as I catch up with my lazy week - have already done all the housework (I had to do it before I turned the computer on or it wouldn't have got done!) except for the ironing.

In a minute I am going to go and get my assignment finished, hoping to have that done by 2pm at the latest. And then the weekend is mine, all mine!!!

Pad today of just £1, but I should be in for a bit of a mini windfall soon as I have managed to sell my old digital camera for £70. I'll probably not pad that when I get it, because I'm into my overdraft by about the same amount so I'll just let it fill that back up.

A few mates are planning to go out tonight but I'm not sure if I fancy it - firstly because I don't really have the money, and secondly if the weather is horrible it's not as good. I can always stay in and watch eurovision :D

    Have a nice day!

    xx

Hi everyone, hope your all ok?I need some advice please.I'm currently paying off my overdraft at a rate of £10 per week. This may take awhile as it is at £430 at the moment! However one of my creditors for a different debt has offered a settlement figure, which knocks approx 25% off the total amount. If I pulled all my money together,in a month or 2 I could afford this (just!)So should I stop lowering the overdraft every week and save up to clear a creditor?I hate this particular one as they do a review every 3 months.I'd be interested in your opinions :D
    My pad today is 30p
    thanks everyone,sorry I haven't been v chatty recently,I've had a really tough week,won't bore you with details :p
