    Good morning

Well done everyone for keeping up payments. As FAL says does not matter how small the payment... it all adds up.

Talking of FAL .... went to get marmite. our tesco had small jar for £1.20 ... a whopping 10p off

Thought I would grab the 'bargain' and a few more 'bargains' .. got to till and realised I only had £5 cash on me (cards at home for safety/stop me spending).:o

Nice lady subtotalled shopping to £5 as we went along and guess what .....marmite was last on conveyor and had to put it back  Was it the large marmite that was £1 or the small one ? Will try another tesco later.

DD paid £100 into my account today :j
Pad £128 to NW CC. Balance now £161.55 :D

Lovely sunny day here .... off for a swim.

    Have a good day everyone.

I've just been working hard and not posting so much.
I do have concerns about coming off the fixed rate mortgage in August and about the large tax bill next January. I've got a few months to push my income up further though. Also starting to take a closer look at some insurance policies and whether they really are appropriate for me. I have no dependants so maybe the term assurance (heavily loaded due to past medical issues) is such a good idea. It would mean that if I were to die prematurely I would have a minus £ in my estate but so what. No-one's depending on me. It looks like I may cancel my level term policy and my rather poor mortgage protection cover, to substitute it with some more PHI. There could be a bit of change to put help with my debts too. I'm paying well over the odds for the term assurance even though the medical issues that caused the high premium are long past and no longer an issue.
Ironically, I've taken a longer look at the mortgage protection cover due to the fact that they now want to increase the premium. I was sold this as a fixed premium/fixed benefit policy but the small print (which I failed to read - yeah I know) allows for increases. I take issue with the fact that this policy was designed for accident/sickness/unemployment cover. I opted out of the unemployment cover as I'm self-employed and would not be covered by it anyway. The premium increase has been brought about by the economic situation (i.e. more claims due to rising unemployment)according to the insurer. I maintain that as I only have sickness and accident cover, this should not be my problem. I will be going through the formal complaint procedure about this - though I acknowledge that I have no proof of what was said at the original interview. Accident and sickness claims do not increase because of a recession therefore I would effectively be subsidising the customers who do have unemployment cover as part of their policy.

    Hello all :hello:

That's a fantastic total for yesterday - well done all

The banks must really be wondering what all these PADs are for....

Hopeful - you have been great with the counting duties !!

Big congrats to mum/4!! Great work!! :T:T
How cool does it feel to be down to one card! Well done on the achievement.

Feeling more human today after a knackering weekend. And also, really positive about my Cap1 debt as my work bonus and saving on the Thailand flights have taken it down to the £3k mark this month - so thrilled with that...and all thanks to the PAD thread motivation.

Today, £68.02 in the continued battle with the Capitalist Ones.

Keep it going all. We're winning !!

Hope everyone has a good day...not long until HUMP DAY and the Bank Holiday coming up. I have Friday off to make it an extra long weekend. Woo-hoo!

Hey Paul - I work for an Insurance Company (don't boo hiss me too much) and I think that's a really logical argument. I'm not in the life and health sector but I would send the complaint straight off to the Chief Execs office. It cuts out about three levels of complaint in my company and they get looked at quickly. All insurance companies have been tasked by the FSA in dealing with customer complaints quickly and fairly - mention the words "FSA state that you have an overiding duty of Treating Customers Fairly" in your letter as thats a massive FSA workstream (have a look on the FSA website) - and it will make them take notice. Hope you get a result !

Hi gang. Still here in my restricted capacity so another boring post from me. Can't even put in carriage returns. Could someone paste in a copy of the posting rules and the code thingies that are under them which are below the quick reply box on the left (or at least they are for me my pages look weird) so I can see if I have the right things switched on. The strange thing is since the internet was fixed my speed has improved dramatically on every other site except this. Thanks for the good wishes guys I really appreciate it I will try to keep in touch. Thanks for bumping my techie thread FAL it takes me so long to load a page I have a job to find my thread and it also means I only read the last page on here. But from what I have read congrats mumof3/4 for clearing a card and I am so pleased that your bro should be home soon such a worry when things like that happen also Happy Birthday for whenever it is. I have been making PADs so another £5.90 for me although I have not updated my sig not sure if it will let me do it and it takes so long. DTxx
