Oooh big catchup!
Welcome back Serena51 - hope you are feeling better, reflux is so horrible.
Sorry to hear you are having so many troubles sotonsaverjen - it's much easier to stick to well anything when you have the right support. Lucky for you (and me!) there is this lovely thread on MSEKeep talking, we'll keep you going.
Mardatha, I'm diabetic too but insulin dependent. As long as he keeps his blood sugar consistent (the coconut oil seems to be helping with this), he should do well on lc. It's a boon if you are insulin resistant like me, only takes a teensy amount of carbs to make my blood sugars ramp up! Plus, he's a guy, and guys like meat
Well done lesley!
And let's all keep it down for Mazzers shall we? Even though tis self-inflicted lol
Had a weird couple of days, not enough sleep = bad breakfast choices = bad day, bad day, bad day. So my remedy is asleep by 11, coconoil first thing a good breakfast and a packed lunch. Also forgetting to take my probiotics *whoops* must go take em now.
Back on track tomorrow, or else :P0 -

and yes parent made me cry - definitely feel like a child and not a young independent woman!
I will stand my ground as much as I can, it is temporary and come september I will be back in charge, which is a nice thought!
Mercy - seeing a doc to talk through nutrition and discuss low carb diet. This is to please my mother as she knows the doc will tell me its not healthy and confirm her point of view. Basically she's trying to prove to me what I'm doing is unhealthy and she wants me to eat "properly". I totally see why she has concerns but she isn't gonna budge on her point of view... thats my mom!
Funnily enough my Dad is totally supportive of me, and has a nice interest in what I'm doing. He just wants me to be happy and sees that I am... obviously my mom reigns supreme so I still have to answer to her but at least there is some sort of balance
I'm going to bed now as have early start to go bargain snaffling at the car boot! will call the OH and read Twilight (amazing book (and film) if you haven't read it... very very much reccomend!) and doze off hopefully...
night night and thank you again, I haven't been here long but I feel very welcome
xx
Glad you are only seeing Doc for talk. There's nothing wrong with you, girl!
Take it all with a pinch of salt, you are living the forefront of nutritional information! Just get on with it, show your personal highs and glide through the 'well have a doughnut' talk you may well get. :rotfl:
Big love to you! And much strength.
We are all behind you, hunni!
Big love

Sotonsaver - The way I stopped all the nagging from friends and family was that I printed out the Dr. D lists and then they all saw how healthy it was and I told them that I had never felt so well and that seemed to work.
Good luck, as a mother I know your mum is only trying to do her best - it's the old thing of ' You can't choose your family but you can choose your friends' try not to get too stressed by it all, only three weeks to September.lol0 -

Hi all :hello:
Sat looking through old posts earlier & it reminded me that there are so many lovely peeps that have gone awol from this thread
alias
sazzy
newish
HC
Badger
Gaye
Zero
to name but a [STRIKE]few[/STRIKE] lot!! Loads more but too many for my poor brain to remember!! Where have they all gone??
Anyway, reason I was looking through old posts was to try & get my inspiration back!! Have been troughing like a big old piggy these last few weeks & can't seem to stop myself!!Have accepted that I won't be able to be 'good' until things are back to 'normal' when the kiddies go back to school/visit from MIL is over & done with. In the meantime I'll try not to be so flipping greedy but won't be watching carbs/gi. Yeah, I know, I'm just putting it off/making excuses...
