  • I only managed to stick to the cambridge diet for a month :o

If I was to compare the two, then definatly this diet! Eating NOTHING is a killer, and at least you can go out to eat with friends/family.

I think the cambridge diet is good if you have a lot of weight to loose, as it kinda gives you a quick kickstart, but I think you have to learn the pro's and con's of food, instead of relying on food packs.

Have you lost a lot of weight on the cambridge? I lost a stone in 2 weeks, and the next 2 weeks I lost NOTHING, and I didn't cheat, so I just thought SOD THIS. Since then I've lost 4 1/2 stone just from healthy eating, but I've been stuck at the same weight for a good few weeks now, so doing the atkins!

yeah i have lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks and my bmi is only 26 now so i wont be allowed on it for much longer but want to loose another 2 stone quickly and for it to stay off - not eating really does not bother me so im not that fussed about the shakes and bars only thing.

i just wanted to make sure i would not put it all bck on again and want to carry on loosing :)

Personally, i dont think you can or will lose two more stone, quickly or otherwise as your bmi is low enough.
Sounds like your already a normal size and on lc you have to eat fat to lose so can only go as low as is natural for your body.

well technically im still overweight as 20-25 is classed as normal.

i just thought that it would help me as thought that lots of people no matter how big they were could loose weight on it.

my goal is to be 10 stone which is bmi 22 and a healthy weight.

Still have not had one good day yet, keep cheating :( i know im just pushing myself down deeper and its making me worst. even looked into doing cambridge diet or lighterlife and even though it seems too good to be true the cost of it is really putting me off. I cant afford £35 a week :( i just need to get my head around this no bread. thats my weakness!!

I am quite overweight (high bmi and lots to lose ) and initially lost large chunks at a time but is only the odd lb or two now, i have not been very good at sticking to it of late but was when i first started, but after the initial losses it slowed to the odd lb or two.
I think it has for most people here.
I even tried a form of intermittent fasting,(keeps your metabolism going when you are only eating periodically, and that actually stopped me from losing even tho i need to lose a great deal.)

I think that unless you are starving your body of almost all nutrients you will settle at your ideal and no more.

Try lc and see what happens, we on here think it is very good for you.

Focus - Yeah just look on the website and find a CDC near you. It also depends on your height, if you are over 5'8 (I think it is) you have to eat 4 food packs a day, thus bumping the price up a tenner or so a week, then there is the "drink flavourings" which cost about £5, and then on week 2 if you want food bars it's more money.

It is quite expensive if you are a family that can make a little go a long way or single and managing on less than £35 a week per food.

It was an extra expense for me when I did it, as I was still cooking the same meals everynight for OH and he'd take my share for lunch the next day, instead of buying of the dreaded sandwich lady, but apart from that and my midnight snackathon of crisps and cake, we didn't really save much money.

Oh and the Asda Smartprice Bol sauce isn't bad! I added a garlic clove and a pinch of mixed herbs and a splash of tabasco and it tasted no different to normal bol sauce. It's only about 30p a jar too :)
  • yeah i pay about 37 a week but that is all your food so if your eating out or buying take aways and sweets and stuff that all adds up. im 5.7 so on 3 "meals" a day i lost 10lb first week and 5lb in my second and i get weighed on friday. i have not found it hard to stick to at all and the food is nice so its not too bad but you do need to be very careful when you come off it so you dont pile it all back on which is why im on here - looking for a good follow up plan to help me maintain/loose and i think it is carbs that my body hates :)

there is a cambridge thread here and its very good

    :)
