I really thought I'd of been in ketosis by now, grrrr, I'm hating the hunger pangs!
I just had 2 poached eggs, spinach leaves, 2 cheery toms and some cucumber, with a blob of cream cheese. It was nice, but the eggs are making me feel a bit sicky. I think it's more when I poach them that the taste is a bit too much.
I've got a chicken breast to use up for lunch later, so I might put a put of fajita seasoning on it, to jazz it up a bit, that will be with salad.....again!
I'm making OH bolagnese for his dinner, was thinking of nicking some of the mince and making my dinner with that. Not sure what to make with it though? I'd quite like something in a sauce, as I seem to eating a lot of dry food.
I could make taco mince, which is just the herbs and spices, but really not sure what to have it with? Because that mixture is quite dry.
Also, what veg can you use thats the lowest in carb? I have broccoli and cauliflower in, plus the usual stuff in the fridge like, brown onions (bad!), carrots (bad!) and peas (bad!).
I guess maybe I could just throw some water in with the mince to make it moist and just have it with cauli and broccoli? Or leave the fat in from the mince.
I'm finding it difficult to come up with meal ideas, I have had a look at Mercys recipe list which looks really nice but I'm missing loads of ingrediants, like flax, tartare, aubergines!
I like "saucy" things, casseroles and the likes. I guess bisto is bad! hehe.0 -
Forgot to say, I had a sneaky weigh this morning, just wanted to know that it's working & it is!! Will have my official weigh on Monday or Tuesday & report losses!!
Don't want to get back into weighing every day if I can help it.0 -
Oh yeah, and I didn't really want to eat "food" for breakfast today so was going to have one of those cambridge shakes I have left, 3 of those a day is almost 50g of carbs. I ain't touching that, could eat 50 sausages (not that I'd want too) for that. Shame though because I was craving something sweet and they hit the spot.
What do people here have a nibble on when they want something chocolate'esque. I hear that new mikado chocs are only 1.4g per choc or something....0 -

That made me smile, I like the idea of happy toms!! :rotfl:
I'm not sure why you can't have the bolognaise tonight?? I'm having it with fried (in butter) slices of courgette & cheesy sauce & it's not too bad carbs wise. Depends how low-carb you want to be I suppose.
It's based on 'mazzers lasagne' recipe & think she has included carb content - it's on Mercy's Recipe post on page 1.
As for other veggies - cheesy leeks is a favourite of mine - see 'how to do' on the Recipe list.
Also, have you mashed your cauli & broc together with butter & double cream?? Tis delicious!!0 -

I'm sure it's using a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil to fry my breakfast bacon/eggs/tomatoes/mushrooms that stops my hunger pangs and encourages the body to burn ketones.
I also add a teaspoonful to each of my morning coffees to boost the fat/cream content. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I don't have any of those oils, I guess I should pick some up. The only oils I have in the house are, sesame, vegetable and extra virgin olive oil.
I'll just drink the fat from my mince later. That might help!0 -

Sweet - I'm rubbish at making my own bol sauce, always tastes like I just licked the can that the tinned toms came out of. So I was going to be using a jar of sauce, I have 2 to choose from, a really nice one from Lidl, that is 8.9g carbs per 100ml (It's 400ml) or a smartprice asda bol sauce thats 3.9g per 100ml (also 400ml) I'm thinking what I'll do is nab half the mince, make OH and mine seperate, I'll use the nasty cheap sauce and that way I can add some pepper and onion too it, and keep half the jar of sauce and make some sort of tomato chicken veg conccoction for tomorrow.
That lasagne recipe looks lovely though, and will try it as soon as I get a courgette!
Rav - Sorry about that haha. I wouldn't really drink that, once you have seen smartprice mince cooking and the fat to mince ratio is 90/10, it will give you nightmares.0 -
I am soooo not worthy I think I should sod off tbh.
I have just bought........£58 of Belgian chocolate........for six quid. How was I meant to ignore a bargain like that? :rolleyes:Herman - MP for all!0 -
