    Morning all!
Am I the only one here still doing this diet thing? TBH, it doesn't feel like a diet. I feel like I am eating normally but the weight is still coming off, slowly but surely. On average a pound a week. It doesn't sound much but it soon adds up. And I also think that doing it slowly means that my body has time to adjust and (hopefully!) I won't get flabby skin.
I also just need to ask something which I am well confused over. I have until now been wearing size 14 clothes. They are now too big for me so logically I should now be a size 12. But my waist measurement is 31 1/2 "(down from 34"!) so there is no way I am a size 12. I looked up some old dress patterns (I used to make all my own clothes and I will definitely get back into it once I have achieved my goal). According to the measurements on the back, I have gone from a size 18 to a size 16! EEK! So how come my size 14 clothes are now too big? Have the clothes manufacturers changed the sizes? Is there an official chart of some kind? It may seem weird, but all the time I was wearing size 14, I thought it wasn't that bad. I don't know why I hadn't realised I was actually a 18, but if I had I might have done something about it before now!

Gaye- alias is right on the clothes sizes, they have altered them in the last 10 years (I saw that programme too:rolleyes:). Also, it really depends on where you buy your clothes as to what size you wear. I wear sizes 12, 14 & 16 (12-14 on bottom and 14-16 on top). As said depends on where I buy from:confused:
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)
  • How dare they change the sizes without consulting me first!

  • As it happens I bought a new posh frock in the January sales (reduced from £120 to £20!). They only had two sizes left, a 14 and a 18. I tried on the 14 but it wouldn't go anywhere near me. The 18 fitted well apart from being slightly too big in the bust (nothing a safety pin wouldn't fix!). At the time I said they must have got their sizes wrong which was why they were still there. Now I'm wondering if they actually got it right.
I remember something about shapes changing, ie waists not being tiny like the fashion in the 50's or straight up and down like Twiggy in the 60's. But I don't remember anything about sizes changing. If (or should that be when?) I get back to my old shape (32-24-34) would I then be a 6 rather than the 10 I was? Is that why we hear so much about skinny girls being a size 4 or 6 when in fact they should be a 8 or 10?

I bought a Boots 'get rid of your hair' thing . Epilation? You don't need punishing! You's just a bit rubbish on occasion, like us all! Don't do it! (if you do, please let me know how it goes :))

Lol....no it wasn't an epilator. That would've been too easy. I bought one of the new Boots Smooth Skin jobs (£250 that I really couldn't afford :o. ) I dont tend to do things by halves. :o

I've just used it and on most of my skin, I didn't feel anything but there were some bits that were a bit hot/stingy feeling for a second. Not too drastic.

I also bought some of that No 7 Protect & Perfect (I keep wanting to call it Protect & Preserve but maybe that's cos I'm of an age I need preserving now. :rotfl:) I have serum, day cream, night cream and eye cream. Although I used my Boots points for that.

I'm also about to buy myself some new Calvin Klein perfume (you get a nice free bag with it < justification ;):D).

I've now come to the conclusion that as I've spent so long not bothering about myself that that's why I am the way I am iyswim.

So......I'm going to start making an effort with what I've got at the mo'....and hopefully that will make me more positive and will help the weight thing.

I'm also going to paint my toenails. :rotfl:

Never heard of that  I'm going to have a wee nosey on the Boots website after this!! I want to know what I'm missing out on!!

Is that the new one that has been scientifically proven to work?? Saw it 'advertised' on the news

I would agree with that for myself. I haven't worn make-up for years & only recently started putting mascara on every day :o Having said that, I haven't even bothered with that for the last couple of weeks, actually forgot tbh.

I'm also going to paint my toenails. :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl:

    Bright pink?? :p

Tis good to see you being so positive, alias :D

Right, I'm off to investigate this hair-removing thingy  Back later, peeps.

    HI All,

Alias: "I also bought some of that No 7 Protect & Perfect (I keep wanting to call it Protect & Preserve but maybe that's cos I'm of an age I need preserving now" I call it Protect and Preserve too. I think its cause I watch too many American cop shows and they have "to protect and to Serve" on their cars and it kinda sounds the same

OH wants to do some DIY today and I am resisting coz we'll end up going to B&Q and McDs is just next door. Argghhhh! Will probably do a nice omlette instead with some salad as the eggs are the only things that don't look off! The fridge freezer is looking ominously at me from the corner of the kitchen daring me to eat any of its decidedly furry looking wares. Think i'll stick to the tinned stuff til Thurs!

    Sweet...peeps talking about it here......http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1526287

As for the cream, yes it's the one on the tv etc. I used it ages ago and it was good but I fell by the wayside when the tube was finished.

Which is exactly why I figured I'd just jump and worry about it later. :rotfl:

Moomi, its the kiddy sweets i cant resist either :o

Gaye, is damn confusing, but waists have got thicker, never seen so many youngsters with fat bellys before, and they dont even try to hide them, mine isnt nice, but it is covered up not on display to put peeps off their food :rotfl:

Wow alias, how much would you spend if you weren't skint  looks great tho, keep us posted on the results.

And finally, had nice time, Cardiff deserted during match time, but livened up later.

Not been very lc, in fact, wasnt lc at all.
Had burger and fries, several pints of various strong lagers, then a kebab.
Today, left w/w friends house as she only had nimble bread, and went for brekkie at other friends who had four, fresh, still warm, white crusty loaves, of which she buttered many slices and put little pots of strawberry conserve for me, her, and her OH... Oh was delish, she also sent me off with choccys for the drive home, which i devoured :o
Gonna have a take away later, and back to lc tomorrow ;)
