When I log my eating my diet shows around 115g fat and around 90g protein. This gives a ratio of 65% calories from fat. Anyone else tried or looked into the fat fast?

Managing to keep carbs at around 30 - 35 per day this week.

    I'm still here :)

Just been a very hectic first week back after holiday so not been posting.

Had a bad day yesterday as found we were at risk of redundancy - however today have been given the all clear thank goodness. It showed me though, that the sense of protection I've felt by my low carb diet, isn't as strong as I'd thought. When I was having the stresses yesterday I started having heart pains which was a shock as I wasn't expecting to - have been fine all the time on LC.

Anyway just a reminder to me I guess that I still need to be careful.

Been loving my home cooked LC food this week, I did miss it on holiday. Got a yummy thai curry for tea tonight, just what I need on a freezing day like today.

Pleased this week, as I have lost quite quickly - I had slowed quite a bit before my holiday, and whilst I ate generally low carb it probably wasn't down to the 20g I usually have. I think now I'm back to 20g it has sort of shocked my body, and I'm now 2lb lighter than before I went away, hooray!

What's it like weather wise for everyone? It's snowed on and off here but none has stuck. But all last night and today it has been SO windy, kept me awake and now it is scarily noisy whistling down the chimney. 4 fence panels have blown out, we daren't put them back until the wind subsides

Mercy - lovely to hear an update on your cats. Your Sheldon story made me laugh :rotfl:

For years we had larger cat tags but last time found a smaller size, but yet which still allowed us to fit their name, and our contact number on:

Anyway look forward to hearing everyone else's news.

I only count up carbs and protein, and am curious as to how much fat I eat. Not that I am concerned tbh but just interested to know, especially compared against what others have reported.

Haven't quite got around yet to looking at one of my weekly menus and tallying it all up though - I will do soon.

I also bought the Low Carb Vegetarian by Celia, Brooks, and Brown. It provides good insight especially if you're Ovovegetarian

    I know it's a bit obsessive but...

Sheldon's harness came yesterday. I put it on him loose to see what he did and he just lay down. Purring. I stood him up several times but he just flopped down :rotfl:

He was so relaxed and puurrry! I was able to examine his feet without losing skin :rotfl:

He has the longest toes of any cat I have ever known. And his toe pads are pink but his foot pads are marbled with brown. TMI?

Anyway, after a bit I used the free harness to go fishing for cats. (the couch being my boat) Everytime I cast the business end out there - I caught one!

    YAY! :j

All my cats are low carbers and we enjoy chicken on a regular basis. :) :rotfl:

Just spotted a recipe for chocolate on my Goodness Direct email update. Not tried it yet but thinking it looks worth a try. Thought I'd post in case anyone else fancied it:

    Makes about 20 chocolate

    100g raw cacao butter
    2tbsp coconut oil
    4tbsp raw cacao powder
    2tbsp lucuma powder
    2tsp maca powder
2tbsp raw honey or sweet freedom
    1tsp super greens powder

    1. Melt the cacao butter and coconut butter very gently – you can do this in a pan or over a bowl of simmering water. Stir it as is dissolves.

    2. Whisk in the remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour into chocolate moulds and place in the fridge to set.

Again, I think I've sort of fallen into this by accident along with the IF. I frequently used have something fatty which keeps me going e.g. coffee with cream or a stick of celery with mayo.

BUT... I very consciously did this for 2 days this week and lost 3 pounds - as I've been bumbling along not losing anything since xmas this was quite pleasing! I wasn't unhappy because I'm not actively trying to lose at the moment, life's been just a bit too full on and I need some recovery time. What really prompted me to do it was seeing reports of a study that showed eating predominantly fat resulted in fat loss whereas diets higher in carbs and protein could result in muscle loss. As exercise is a dim and distant memory that's quite an incentive for me so I think I might do this on a regular basis, not for extended periods but certainly for a day or two a fortnight.

Well done daska :j It can't be easy to keep going when things are tough.

It is great to know that eating more fat can actually break a stall.

I have been really good this week and my urine shows ketones so I hope that it will result in weight loss when I weigh on Monday.

I went to see the physio yesterday and ended up unable to sleep last night as she must have stirred things up :( She is suggesting acupuncture as well as exercises. Has anyone tried this and had any relief?
