Evening all....i hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekends
I haven't posted much but i have been trying to read the thread when i can. I started a new job 2 weeks ago and i'm still trying to adjust to early nights etc
The good news is that my primal/paleo eating is still going well - 99% of the time it is effortless and the hunger pangs are under control with the high fat and no sugar. I hope you're all getting on ok as well?

Hi there confused76 yay for proper low carbing0
-
please do mercy i have water kefir as well but i havnt plucked up the courage yet to try it ...
i should though as it has essential b vitamins
Mine came yesterday. Got it in sugar solution straight away as it's a living thing and will be harder to use the longer it's left. It came as tiny clear gels and they immediately started to swell up.
I used muscovado sugar and cold, previously boiled water - to get rid of chlorine. Hopefully my new little friends will appreciate their mineral rich environment and flourish. :T
Looking forward to ginger and lemon soda full of vitamins and minerals :j

Give them a boiled eggshell Mercy, they'll love you for it
They need the sugar for food but they need minerals as well and the eggshell (as well as the unrefined sugar) helps with this. Ginger is good for them as well, I'd recommend grating and squeezing root ginger rather than adding the powdered stuff cos that always looks rank.

<high fives confused76> going out to buy more trousers but this time rummaging in charity shops cos OH is thinking this is getting expensive.
Yesterday bought two pairs black linen trousers Marks and Spencer, scarlet linen Marks and Spencer skirt, Monsoon black linen skirt and a black cotton Marks and Spencer Blue Harbour tshirt - all from Oxfam.
Having lunch out as well.. sunny here
I'll be stocking up on additive free kefir from my local Polish shop, I love it poured on strawberries mmm
Getting my carbs only from veg, fruit and dairy, not eating processed food or drinking alcohol, not eating additives and trying to eat organic (when I can find it) and upping my fat content..is working for me..;)0 -

Thanks. It's good to know someone who's done it before, I may question you at length, as and when :rotfl:
As I only got them yesterday I thought I'd just give em a feed while they settle in. I've read about the eggshell thing so will be boiling some shortlyi want my little darlings to flourish so I'll have lots before I start experimenting too much :rotfl:
Came across 2 different sized plastic funnels for £1 the 2 in charity shop so putting em through the dishwasher and all will be well
I have read that if you take an ounce (28ml?) of the first ferment and add it to milk you can make a kind of yogurt drink by fermenting for 24-48 hrs. Thinking about this for smoothies. Will be trying it at some point and will let you know.
I love experimentin, me :rotfl:

Hi Edwardia!
I buy many of my clothes from Charity shops, I only wear M&S, Next, Dotty P and designer items these days  (and George, of course :rotfl:)
At the mo, there are many M&S, Next etc out there. I think it's because only the people who can afford to shop there new can afford to give clothes away :rotfl:
You will find - as you have, that as you get into the 10 - 16 sizing there is more choice in charity shops.
Don't forget that the lovely clothes you have bought but hardly if ever worn can be sold on ebay so you can spend it on something else
Today I bought a khaki waterproof mid thigh jacket with hood for £2.20. Something i've wanted for a while :j

Happy shopping day!
Lidl have big red peppers on sale at 1/2 price - 39p this weekend! Bought 4 as i want to try some in a kimchi recipe.
Will be using red peppers, spring onion, shredded mooli / daikon, shredded carrot and the rest of the kimchi staples. Like the sweet and sour idea. Will let you know if it works
Also bought some avocados at 59p each
