Hi all!
'I Aten't Dead' a la Granny Weatherwax:rotfl:
But thanks for asking
I've been busy in general and although reading all it's been on the rush. With being a day behind mostly, anything I could have added has been supplied by othersYou are a most knowledgeable lot my sweeties
Lost 1/2 a kilo :rotfl:
Will be having bro's Bday celebrations tomorrow. Will not be eating much that I shouldn't but alcohol will be playing a part. Instead of Strongbow I will be having my Strongbow substitute. Vodka, lime, soda. Not many carbs and mimics the sourness, mouthfeel and throat fizz of cider
I have also found a new pleasure. Sadly it is quite high carb but it's nature means you can't have very much of it at once.
It's Fireball cinnamon and whisky Liqueur. 5.5g carb per 25ml.
Now, having poured 25ml, I had 1 sip initially (8ml?) and for the first 1/3rd of a second you taste the sweetness. Then it blows a hole in the back of your head, just above the neck. :j:rotfl::T:beer: Took me another 30 mins to finish that small amount. Gonna make em do shooters tomorrow. I love my family :rotfl::rotfl:

I've been eating well and sleeping well.
Been experimenting with my sleep. (one of the reasons I've not been about much in evenings) Generally in bed - no computer as I'm strictly desk top by choice - by 8.30 - 9pm. Asleep by 9.30 - 10pm most nights, if not earlier. Hence awake by around 4.30, getting up 5ish.
Sometimes I had a lie in until 5.30Livin the dream :rotfl:
From this I have confirmed that 7 hours sleep is my optimum. I do like snoozing though, so it's been fun. When I had had the last of the baileys (fat already, may as well have last 100ml;)) I woke up after 7 hours but felt rubbish, sluggish and needed 3 snoozes at least. This morn (after 50ml Fireball last night) woke up 4.50, smiled and waited for alarm at 5am. Got up fresh as a daisy :j And still in ketosis :rotfl:
Sleep is so important for a well functioning body and mind. I would suggest that everyone find out what their optimum sleep is and try to get it. I realise that I'm in a good position as I have no distractions like children and regular sleeping partner. These will make sleep testing challenging if not incredibly difficult.
So, do what you can. Dark rooms to sleep in, eat early, no caffeine after lunch, no arguments or stress left over from work, any exercise at least 2 hours before bedtime.
I used melatonin to regulate my sleep patterns and that's when I first found 7 hrs for me was best.
I also downloaded this
http://stereopsis.com/flux/
It takes off the harshness of light from the computer screen as the evening progresses. I find this works well. It is easier on the eye and does not stimulate the brain in such an alaming fashion as normal screen lighting does. Helping you to calm down before bed.
Good sleeps to all!
Big love

PS - I will be staying up a little later tonight as it is THE WEEKEND and a long one at that!low carb recipe list - link on page 1 low carb support threadYou don't have any control over what life throws at you.You DO have control over how you react0 -
Cauliflower pizza: was ok but not amazing. I think maybe with better cheese the result would be improved. Never mind.Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
I like the sound of the cider substitute - I'm assuming it's lime juice rather than cordial?
And the Fireball sounds right up my street, I make a mean spiced vodka/brandy which has quite a kick (cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom), I might give it a go with whisky next time. What's the base do you reckon? Presumably not too peaty.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
48 down, 22 to go
Low carb, low oxalate Primal + dairy
From size 24 to 16 and now stuck...0 -

Personally I think the chicken one is better than the cauliflower. (And I use low fat mozzarella in the bases.)Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Mostly the lime is juice. If that's not available I use Roses lime cordial. They don't pack it with artificial sweeteners like home brands do, It's £1.60 vs 60p but well worth the extra. I only use a little when I do use it as I've never liked strong cordial. Fresh lime isn't that strong really, either
The whisky in Fireball is Canadian.

Reckon a nice mellow smooth one to start with would work best. Irish? Canadian? :rotfl:

We have street party arranged for tomorrow. Just looking at some of the food being prepared makes me wonder if I would be better off locking myself in the cellar for the day.
Maybe some kind of muzzle might help me stay on the straight and narrow.
That Fireball stuff sounds interesting.0 -
Hi Mercy ! :T
I go to sleep anytime between Midnight and 2am and wake up anytime between 6am and 8am depending on what I'm doing/where I'm going. I am guilty of using my laptop/BlackBerry in bed or reading.
I collect First Editions (mostly bought secondhand) and there's nothing else like reading a hardback book so I have resisted a Kindle so far. I like rummaging for secondhand books in charity shops too, but often I find nowt but chick lit.
I had to give up drinking because it made my blood sugar crash too low. I used to like a nice glass or three of Cotes du Rhone, a Peroni with Italian food, Pastis or Pimm's in summer, Beck's with a barbecue and Taittinger anytime I could persuade OH it was a suitable occasion
I have finally gotten used to tea without sugar so I'm necking Earl Grey with Lactofree at the moment.
To those going to Italia tomorrow, have a great time !0 -

Have a hearty breakfast first and a tuck box in the bag, full of sausies, lumps of cheese and bacon crispsNot quite the same, I know
I'm taking fruit and cream as my contribution tomorrow. Also Blackforest ham. Sis says there's meat and veg so should be ok. Can't do pastry or cake cos of wheat but will not starve through lack of itMay overdo the fruit - heyho!
Fireball is more than interesting! It's wonderful! :rotfl:
