Awww..thankyou soooo much for your posts ladies.

I'm feeling better this morning and I ate that chocolate cake with my brew haha! But I am starting my 'daddy's wedding diet' tomorrow! Makeup I am exactly the same and need to be in 'the zone' to diet and I am definately feeling it. Like I said I would have started today but there's no point when I'm going for chinese tonight so that's why I had the cake, also I need to finish off the bottle of vimto I bought lastnight. And my last [STRIKE]excuse[/STRIKE] reason is that I'm not getting weighed until tomorrow so might aswell have another pig out day (just NOT like yesterdays)
I have been to the doctors before now about my binge eating I took a list of everything I thought wasn't right about the way I eat but she wasn't interested. She just showed me what she had for her lunch which was a salad sandwhich and a yoghurt, and told me to eat things like that... Errrrrrr yeah I know what I should be doing but being able to do it is something else!!

Sarah that's a fab idea about involving DD in the preperation of food, she'd love to do that. And with the cold/dark night setting in she'll not be going out so much after school so it should be easier.

I don't think takeaways are a huge problem for me, although I probably do have too many but I can go one week having about 5 and then go 3 weeks without having 1. The week when I had 5 though I don't think I actually paid for 1 of them or if I did it will have only been 1 as I can't afford any more than that.
My main problem (apart from no self control) is being unorganised. Yesterday for example I had planned to make sausage and mash for tea but needed to buy the stuff during the day. I ended up not taking cash or my card to work so couldn't get it then. Finish work at 2 but hung around in the town where I work until 3 (I pick someone up and drop him off near my house on a wed). Then I drop him off, just get home when my friend says she needed me to go round (she was waiting for her ex to turn up and was expecting there to be hassle and just didn't want to be on her own) So I nipped there but had to be home for 4:30 for DD getting in from school, then my cousin turned up for a brew then they went and it was too late to go get the stuff and then make it coz DD was going to the cinema. So she had a bun instead :(
Had I had the stuff in I could have put the potatoes in the steamer while I went to my friends or something.

I need to plan plan plan plan plan. There's no other way round it, I also need to spend more daytime hours at home. At the moment I have got quite a bit in and just need meat/veg to go with it.

I think I will use my diary for a diet diary aswell as money saving.

Oh I've got to dash I've got Homestart this morning, been off for 2 weeks so I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks again for your lovely posts, you're all f fabulous :A

    Hey Bowski

Meal planning is definitely the way to go. I know it is harder as you have DD to think of but I am being more strict about eating strange combinations etc just to use up what I have before I go to the supermarket. - I think Sarah is doing the same thing as well?!

I did a store-cupboard inventory recently which was really good as I found plenty of things that I could use for meals .... and which I'd forgotten about

I've also been working my way through all the things I've frozen.

I had some good-ish news today - the sandwich man is moving and so is no longer going to come around. Considering I bought a mars bar and a packet of cheese & onion off him today is probably a very good thing...When it is right there in your face it is hard to avoid!

Dan - welcome back! How was the hol?

I've signed up to two more bookies but not managed to place any bets yet. Will do so this weekend hopefully.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Forgot to update about flat - thanks Sarah for the positivity - latest is that I may hear either tomorrow or next Friday.

I'm hoping for tomorrow. I can't take much more drama!!!

I need to be assessed by the panel - I think they will have a few of us to consider and then they will decide who is most eligible for it

Was funny, I spoke to the marketing officer on Monday and he said 'why are you in such a rush??'

Surely everyone wants to find out asap what is happening? And if you aren' t that bothered then why are you applying???
I've got my own flat :j:j

Thank you, it's good to be home. Hong Kong was amazing but manic - it's good to have a sit down and a cup of tea (although I believe they do have tea in China).

    Dan, welcome home :D

TDQ, you're excused for now, but you better not be too long :naughty:

Sarah, I too am following the random leftover food diet eg, well done for not buying more stuff without codes :A

I'm enjoying my new job & am now working my way up to asking if I can go every day :rotfl:. Actually, after 8 years of working from home I'd go in everyday for free just to have some company to work with  I forgot how much I'd missed business people & the work related conversations, easy going chat & learning opportunities :o.

Must find a way to make myself indispensable ... ....... aha  will take in batch of hobnobs, no one can resist them :rotfl:

Must go throw some tea at DD, then will be back later & as it's the end of the working week for me ... there may be a pink elephant or two as well ;)

    Hi everyone :)

Hi .. omg what had happened to him?!

I think a lot of cats would like the Turbo Track but in my experience they will always prefer doing anything you don't want them to do (sleeping on your computer, pouncing on your paperwork, attacking your feet while you're asleep) to anything you've deliberately organised..!

Noah has a medical condition with his paws, by the time he was brought in as a stray they were infected and he was not able to groom himself properly. :( Cats do tend to do whatever regardless of what their [STRIKE]personal butler[/STRIKE] owner wants ... but Noah will be a house cat so needs to be exercised and entertained. Apparently he is a cowardy custard so he'll probably be scared of the Turbo Track!!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you, Makeup!!

  • Hi Bowski have a dodgy hug from me as well

    :grouphug:

I think if your GP isn't listening to you then its time to get a GP that will.

At the very least she should be able to give you a referral for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Hello all, day 1 of being frugal is almost over:D

    Today's list:

    • free tea and toast at work
    • store cupboard meals -chicken salad and then bacon rolls- am not quite at the mad combinations stage yet:D
    • NSD

Think that's it, nothing too exciting but as the aim is to spend as little as possible it went okay.

Landmark credit card win could clear debt for thousands

Published Date: 01 October 2009 A MUM-of-three's landmark legal triumph could open the floodgates for millions of people to take credit card companies to court.
Lynne Thorius, 49, of Sycamore Avenue, South Shields, today said the decision at Newcastle County Court to write off her £8,686 debt marked the "end of a nightmare".

Mrs Thorius is the first person to see her credit card debt wiped out after she was "unfairly" sold payment protection insurance (PPI).

All previous attempts to sue credit card companies over insurance policies have been settled out of court.

But because Mrs Thorius was the one being sued, rather than the credit card company, the case went all the way to judgement.

MBNA was trying to sue her for the outstanding balance on her Sunderland AFC-branded credit card.

Deputy District Judge Jacqueline Smart ruled that MBNA had breached the Unfair Relationships Act, because the credit card provider earned commission from the insurance company for the policy it had sold to Mrs Thorius – without telling her.

Now the landmark judgement could help people take credit card companies to court.

Mrs Thorius expressed thanks to her legal team for helping her achieve the victory.

She added: "This is the end of a nightmare. It has been hanging over me and my family for a long time and I just feel relief it is over.

"I'm happy the judgement may now help others who have suffered at the hands of credit card companies to seek justice.

"MBNA treated me appallingly from start to finish. I ticked 'no' on the PPI, but they applied it to my account anyway.

"When I had my hours cut at work from full-time to part-time and started to struggle to pay the bill, MBNA started to call me three or four times a day, even as late as 9.30pm or 10pm.

"MBNA were rude on the phone and one person told me to get another job, while someone else said they would repossess my house."

A spokeswoman for MBNA said: "This case was brought by one of the MBNA's agent. The judgement went against us for a number of reasons, in principle, because the deputy district judge felt the MBNA had not on this occasion provided the appropriate documents to the customer and as such was not able to rely on the clauses MBNA would ordinarily seek to rely on in these cases.

"The case is a county court case and each case is decided on its own merits and on the factual circumstances of each case. This does not set a legal precedent."

But Carl Wright, chief executive of the claims management company Cartel Client Review, which successfully defended Mrs Thorius, disagreed.

He said: "Now Lynne has won, the floodgates could open for millions of other people. This is a massive victory. It will change the way banks lend money and issue credit cards."
