I am a bit spooked by the fact that we could have a local arsonist; next door to us is empty, so another possible target.

If both buildings belong to the same company I think the police will probably be all over any possibly disgrunled ex-employees in short order.

:A Thanks makeup; I'm a bit concerned but enjoying good displacement activity posting here which is stopping me wibbling too much. Just off to twitch my curtains and see what's happening now.

Please see my avatar. If there's any wibbling to be done, then I'll be the one doing it thank you very much ;)

    Oh no, I hope not.

Hopefully the Fire Service / Police will investigate and find out the cause of the fire, it could just be a co-0incidence. Empty buildings are prone to fires - were there any rough sleepers in area?? Or could just be an electrical fault something like that.

Certainly hoping it's a coincidence. Next door is security alarmed with a direct link to the police, and we saw the owners last night, so I think they would have said if there had been a problem. The rapid appearance of the police mobile office is making me wonder, though...but at least it's a prompt response.

All 6 engines are still here, and I assume they are damping down, as I can't see any smoke/fire now. My mother has just pointed out that the smell is worse than OH's cooking last night. A lot of banging has just started, so I guess they may be making something safe. Another quiet night in suburbia, eh?

Seriously folks, thanks for your company. Even though I know we're in no physical danger (unlike a fire we had at uni, where the kitchen below ours was gutted, and we ended up jumping out of the first floor windows), it's been a bit creepy. A bit of distraction and some daft jokes have been much appreciated.

You are, of course, f fabulous.

Wow I just had a big catch-up to do.

I leave for the airport in just over 2hrs... still not finished packing haha!

I'm going to be a party-pooper and say that the MB should go to another thread, simply because there's a section of the forums for it and it's all gibberish to me so I skip posts and miss other stuff too. Sorry!

Hi All, long time no post, been busy at work why does everyone have hols at this time of the year? Anyway thanks to you all I'm getting the idea of matched betting and I just need to sort my laptop out, somethings wrong with connecting to the net, I'll be giving it a whirl.
Makeup I agree kick your ex where it hurts, and I am officially single again cos I dumped my ex, he was getting on my nerves, although why I never remembered at the time I'll never know, so if I mention going out with an ex again I'll kick myself and give up drinking forever, cos i can't be trusted not to do something stupid.

    Hey Eco welcome back!

I think going out with an ex seems like a good option because you know each other already and you think 'at least I don't have to do all that getting to know you stuff again' and of course you've completely forgotten why your ex was an ex........

I've come to conclusion, for me anyway, that even staying friends with an ex is a mistake.....

I was going to start my MB attempts this evening and had even found a really good match and everything but when I signed up with bookie it wouldn't let me deposit cash as 'couldn't verify my details' or something  So I've emailed them and hopefully will have answer tomorrow.

Should probably try and achieve something this evening like tidying up.....
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Hio all, have done nothing today:o Meant to do some more decluttering but too lazy:o

makeup, how much are you going to put on for your first bet? I thought you had to wait for an offer of a free bet before you put one on? Dan, if you are here, do you just out a bet on with anyone, or do you use Coral?

ShoeGal hope you had a nice day with your mum. Any new on the plan?:D

    Hi Sarah

There's a list of bookies offering free bets, you have a look through and pick which offer you want to do. When you're starting off it should be a Stake Returned free bet, preferably a small one. I think makeup and I decided that Coral is not Stake Returned, so she's doing a different bookie. I can't check the info at the moment though as I'm at work.
