Apparently this was a motion tabled for discussion in Parliament in the 19th century when there was an imbalance and lots of single women causing havoc.

The shoemakers couldn't keep up with demand for fabulous shoes and milliners were having to work overtime to make all the latest fashion bonnets....

I stand corrected, dear Leader :D

    I'm slow on the uptake

I love a man in uniform....If I thought Holly was near me I'd have been pm'ing like crazy....

Hope all ok, though, sounds pretty serious!?

The fire itself isn't so bad; although the fire engines have been there for a while now, we are so close that I am sure they would have made us leave by now if it was necessary, and the building looks quite stable. I am a bit spooked by the fact that we could have a local arsonist; next door to us is empty, so another possible target.

:A Thanks makeup; I'm a bit concerned but enjoying good displacement activity posting here which is stopping me wibbling too much. Just off to twitch my curtains and see what's happening now.

Yes. In fact, it's a requirement. Like having a GCSE before you can do the A level;)

    Oh no, I hope not.

Hopefully the Fire Service / Police will investigate and find out the cause of the fire, it could just be a co-0incidence. Empty buildings are prone to fires - were there any rough sleepers in area?? Or could just be an electrical fault something like that.

    A most excellent site.

It was created by a friend of mine & I think he & his wife still run it.
