Re having a separate thread for MB, I did wonder if we should do that so the non MBers don't get bored with us and we don't clog up the thread but I am happy to go along with what everyone else thinks.

I remember that one:D I definitely think we should be able to do it, it's harder to set up home when you are single, we are the ones who actually need all the presents.:D And cake.

Update on the fire - road is now cordoned off in both directions, and there are six fire engines plus a cherry picker, but the fire appears to be well under control and I can see firemen with torches in the building (about 50 yards diagonally across the road). The roof is gone and there are smoke marks above the windows, but otherwise I can't see much damage (although a bit difficult to tell amidst whirling blue lights) What is a bit creepy is two fires in a week, both in buildings in the road owned by one company (their offices and some houses converted into flats); the earlier fire was in one of their flats, and tonight's fire is in their old offices.
