Please tell me we will be getting more than £31 per week. That won't even keep me in shoes.

I promise nothing :) It will depend. Let's just do the first one first and take it from there..!

He, he! Put in mild nagging for next week and major-getting-on-my-case nagging for the week after ;)

Noted. Does the Nagging Week start on a Sunday, Monday, or - like the crazy fools I work for - Saturday..?!

I know, but it's quite inspirational to read! 31 pounds would be good...any extra money would be good...it's all going to pay off my credit card.

Yep it's all extra income which is good. I hate to think how many hours Donglemouse has spent at his computer though. (says me posting on here at 1.38am..!)

Yep, I've read it several times. Each time I understood a little more. Now I need to learn the lingo and overcome my fear :o

True - 61p though! The vending machine people are robbers

They are. Get a multipack and put it in your drawer at work. If the vending machine at my work broke, everybody would go to my drawer...

Bl00dy hell its late. Right, goodnight.

Ooh yes, I'm going to order some now. Probably rose :)

Don't worry too much about the abbreviations etc, there aren't too many and you can always ask me or the GIOL board regulars on their questions thread.

Placing the first bet is scary, I can't deny it, but again you can get someone to check it first and then just double-check everything you click on and it'll all be fine.

I'm just having a quick look through the matched betting instructions thread and I see it suggests reading Donglemouse's diary. I'm not really sure it's necessary at all, but can I suggest definitely not reading the whole 1,500 posts, just the first and last few pages, as life is too short..!

I note your careful use of "drawer", singular :p

I did think of buying loads of crisps but then I'd just eat them and put on weight. As it is I only buy Mini Cheddars once every few weeks, usually when I've forgotten to eat during the day. Crisps are a bit of a vice for me actually - I'm not really fussed about sweet stuff - so I don't buy them at all at the supermarket any more. Anyway, rambling, tired, back to the point:

Quoting myself - crazy. Anyway I have decided that the matched betting week starts each Monday. You will be receiving a mild nagging in just over 72 hours.

I have read it several times, but not recently. It was that thread that put me off, I just could not grasp it at all:o I will have another read of it at the weekend and make some notes. Hopefully a bit more of it will sink in.

I'd definitely recommend making notes, it helps to write things out in a way you understand. I'd also recommend not reading on until you're sure you understand what you've read. You can do it! :D

I might order some rose too. Need to check out when the offer ends though, hopefully after payday :o

It's all this SR and SNR business. I know what they mean, but don't understand how they affect how I bet. I need to get to grips with that I think. Also, I'm worried if I don't read the smallprint/T&C the bookies will catch me out on something.

Having said all that, I understand the concept and I'm sure I can do it. I'm glad you decided on Monday - that's what I was thinking too. I'll try and get my house tidy and as much other stuff out of the way as possible this weekend and have a little refresher on it.

Yes, I was quite deliberate about that ;)

Ah, crisps aren't really my vice, in fact they have been known to go out of date :o However, I hardly ever keep chocolate in the house.

Great. Oooh, this time next week I might have done my first bet and made some money, that's quite exciting.

Yep it was lucky timing for me as my payday is tomorrow. I got a bit carried away and ordered two cases though, one Spanish rose and one Chilean white. I'm not sure Spain is a renowned producer of rose so fingers crossed it's drinkable..!

The smallprint can be a pain. Once I'd done the 'easy' bookies to start with, I found the best tactic was to keep an eye on the GIOL board every day as new offers would be posted together with their T&Cs, and then people would discuss them and come to a conclusion about anything ambiguous. That way you don't end up trying to interpret loads of smallprint on your own. People on the gambling board are very good at pointing out any potential traps.

I will explain the maths of SNR free bets later, but suffice to stay for now that it's essential if you're starting with limited funds to do SR offers first.

Sunday is usually a quiet day for MBing anyway, with most football matches and therefore actual betting taking place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The first one is the biggie, after that it's all just the same thing again and again so repeat until rich ;)

I could have bought a lot of Mini Cheddars with the money I've just spent on wine :o

    Jeeez Dan,

60+ p for mini cheddars

I bought a multi pack of 12 bags from Tatco for £1 yesterday :D

Have now bought padlock for DDs case & amazingly I remebered the combination for mine :).

Sorry to hear about your cancelled camping trip Bowski :( your plan for locking the doors & unplugging the phone sounds great though - I often do that just because I can - Englishwomans home being her Castle ra ra ra :p:D.

I am with you on the holiday every 3 months Dan; in fact this will be part of my new plan. I aim to be spending a lot less money on food & clothes & accessories etc & spending it on going out/away/having fun. I have a car & some tents so no reason why we cant just pack up on a friday & head off to the wilds while the weather is good. Obviously a 4 star hotel with spa would be quite nice but .... I am a DFW

I have no wine in the house but intend to rectify that situation shortly ;)

PS - Dan if you can get hold of Spanish Rioja Gran Familia I can assure that it is the most delicious rose.

Used to be able to get it from Tatco but there hasnt been any for a few weeks now ( maybe I overdid it :D)

Yeah but if I'd done that I would have eaten them all before I even started work, and then still spent 61p at work, and ended up several pounds heavier..!

To be fair I don't actually go away every three months, but need to have some time off at least or I get worn out and furious :) Although I did go on hols that often when I wasn't single but that's cos I had free use of a cottage Brittany. Now the only place I can go for free is my uncle's caravan in Teignmouth

Sounds nice. On the other hand, I have bought wine made from the Bobal grape. Is that even a real thing?! :rotfl:
