But I think think quality of life is more important - it's just a shame that most people seem to put more value on possessions than happiness so you're only accepted by some people if you have a nice car, big house etc.
    Hurrah :T
I shall pre-empt your next response though and say that those sorts of people aren't worth knowing :) But sometimes it does seem to be most of society that thinks like that.

    Sad but true

The writing on the screen is going a bit blurry - do I need a new monitor? ;)
No, you need to pass me your bottle & instead :D

Check said monitor in the morning and make a decision then!

Lula, I meant wedding photos from being guests at a wedding ;)

Buffy, I am thinking of doing scratchcards so when the time's right I might have to ask your advice on sites etc.

sarah... I had to stop because he was only about 14, his mates looked so scared and I thought if that was my DD I'd want someone to stop and make sure she was ok. I know someone who died from choking on their vomit when drunk and it frightens the life out of me people being in that state.
I did feel abit sorry for his mates, they were worried they were going to get into trouble but I told them they should be more worried about their mates health! Bet he had a right hangover this morning!!

I suppose I'd better go home, Nicnacnoo's gone to bed. I only nipped up for my straightners and was going to have an early night

Double NB: never attempt to make rose by pouring half a glass of red and then adding half a glass of white. This can lead to extreme falling over

What a truly brilliant idea :rotfl:

    * wonders if local co op still doing the multi racial bottles for £12.99*

  • I was going to have an early night too. hmmm. it must be nice to be so close to your sister nic/browski xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Hello! I've been reading this thread for a while and am quite often in stitches at all of your antics. decided I had to jump in tonight and introduce myself properly - not least because I am sitting here with a glass of red wine (which I hate - being more of a sancerre girl!) watered down with soda in an attempt to turn it into rose. suffice to say it's fairly yucky, but after the day I've had not having a drink was quite simply not an option.

anyway, just a quick hiya. this thread is fab and when I've got a bit more confidence I'll tell you all a bit more about me (although the young (ish!), single and in debt bit is probably fairly obvious!).

From different posts or different quotes from the same post?

Both. But don't worry about explaining it, I probably won't get it anyways :o

NO BOOZE at the wedding  How come??
If you're going on your own then surely other people are too and hopefully they've put all the singletons on 1 table and you should be able to have a good perv if nothing else :p

I love men in suits  The uniform doesn't do it for me but shirt and tie...yes please! (obviously where my obsession of weddign photo's comes from) And also tattoos do it for me too...yum yum yum!

right I'm really going to bed this time, I've still got to ring a mate yet that I said I'd ring about 20 mns ago...oops!

Night everyone! Hope all your heads are ok in the morning!
  • Hello London Fraggle - excellent name ! welcome xxx

I reckon it is. SS made loads! He had more debt then me when I joined here and now he has hardly any. you do have to hold your nerve tho.

I'm not sure how much he made from matched betting though? I know he drifted into the slightly less safe casino bonuses, which aren't allowed to be discussed on the gambling board.

I love SS, I was chatting to him on MSN the other day about my future plans. I very much cannot repeat his main tips vis-a-vis my travelling aspirations

I don't think I would consider making £1000 boring, I would certainly be one of those who kept going.:D

:) It is like a 2nd job though, albeit one you can do in the comfort of your own home. I enjoyed it so it didn't feel like too much of a chore, but I know SS found looking for odds incredibly tedious as it was nothing to do with cars, women or drinking - so he found it difficult to stay motivated at times.

I saw a thread on here by a man who was trying to get £50,000 in 3 years, the majority from matched betting. Is that do-able? It does seem quite a lot.

    This thread? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1516753

It seems like quite a lot to me too.

I'll have a look for that thread now. I'm guessing he didn't succeed with that, to be honest.

Yeah we only hear rumours on the daily chat (where I normally am) but I just go by his sig whenever I see him around. And Yes I am very glad you aren't sharing his travel tips!! I can imagine!!

tempted to mention car mats but wont. oh whoops.
