Wow, Sarah, you've had a fab day - well done!
I've been reading a really interesting thread on Guardian Online about feminism.
I think I'm getting more political as I get older.....
I even tried to join the Fawcett Society which is a feminist society, taking political / group action on womens issues, but it wouldn't let me .....
Oh well, should go to bed. Need to be up early tomorrow yet again to have a bath before the workmen get here. I will be so happy when the work is finished and i can lazily get out of bed after 8am!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Hi
Hmmm. Well I'm fairly annoyed this morning. Mainly due to a run in with work t0sser yesterday. It's unbelievable really. What makes blokes think they can behave as inappropriately as they like behind their girlfriend's backs, when you challenge them about it, they admit they were out of order, however, later they delude themselves that they've never actually done anything wrong and proceed to rub your nose in their 'perfect' (his words, not mine) relationship??? Now if that's perfect, I'll pass thanks. Just to compound all this, my friend has recently gone through the EXACT same thing with a bloke in London. I'm sure there are decent and honest guys out there (in fact, I might know a couple), but really there's no wonder I'm so disillusioned by men and relationships. Oh well, I'm just going to carry on trying to be fabulous and hopefully a fabulous man will come along.
On the money front, things aren't looking good. I think I've spent next months money already. Boiler repair, weekend in London, sales shopping and contact lenses have cleared me out. Not sure what I'm going to do to get through next month, but I need a plan!
Work has been crazy aswell which is frustrating as I haven't had much time to get on with the moneysaving/making.
I hope everbody else is doing ok.
Dex - Hi!! Nice to meet you.
eco - Thanks. If only it was just decorating though. It needs more major work than that though unfortunately. That's one of my main motivations to get rid of the CC and save as much as possible. I'm trying to do both at the moment and it is hard. I was thinking the other day though and most people (at least in the past) would have remortgaged or something to get the work done, but I'm saving up hard and on my own. When I finally get it sorted it will be a great achievement.
TDQ - I'm glad you're feeling a little better.
Sarah - It's good to see you back and posting your progress.
Lula - I've read bits of your diary over the last few days and I'm sorry to hear DD has got herself in a bit of bother. It must be difficult to strike the right balance between being there for her, but also ensuring for her own sake she learns the lesson - I'm sure you'll strike the right balance though.
Right I'd better get on.

Actually, I did achieve something today - I DIDN'T buy Marie Claire !! :rotfl::rotfl:
Oooh must be contagious, that's ^ exactly what I achieved yesterday
I was sorely tempted by the freebie shampoo & conditioner then realised how tiny they were & wouldnt do for both DD & I for our hol so put it back
Must be my age but I find all the articles on how to diet, exercise, eat healthily & please/tempt/keep/tame/expel your man so boring. They never change & are the same in every magazine & have been for the last 20 years  In fact I could probably write them myself.
As to surveys, I gave up with ipoints but find that both Lightspeed & Ispsos are good earners.
Happy Friday everyone :j0 -
Hi All,
I've been doing surveys since last september with mixed success, ipsos, harris poll, toluna & qna have been good payers for me, i've been at £35 with one poll for forever and have found lightspeed, piggy points, valued opinions & opinion bar useless (for me), I got £30 of amazon vouchers from ipoints, but not sure Ill bother anymore there was so much signing up to things and then having to remember to cancel, my admin is not great at the best of times:rolleyes:
makeup - sorry to hear about the theatre, glad the bathrooms pretty much done though... I had a major leak in my bathroom last year and its so nice when its all sorted:D
sarah - Ive used quidco for a while now, ive had about £100 from it and have about £65 waiting to be received - im terrible at remembering all the little stuff though, its the same with nectar points for amazon purchases I would have so many nectar points if I just remembered to go through the nectar site!
shoegal - don't feel bad about having a bad day and acheiving nothing, maybe you needed the day to relax a bit, I have more of these than I care to admit to, it's amazing somedays I get so much done and others moving off the sofa seems an effort...
gwen - You are fabulous, don't let anyone make you feel otherwise and im sure you'll meet someone who will see just how fabulous you are!
Lula - def agree re the magazine articles, given up reading them, instead buy house magazines and drool over all the lovely things I can't afford to buy to put in my house (probably could afford more if I stopped buying the magazines )
Hope your all well today, I'm flying up north tomorrow to see my OH it's been a few weeks since I've seen him so looking forward to it:j just need to cross my fingers that the dress im planning on wearing to the do saturday night still fits:o
Have a fabulous day and weekend all

I just read my last post again and I use 'though' way, way too much! Stop me!!!Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0

Ok, I realise I'm probably just talking to myself now, but anyway. I've been thinking about the work t0sser situation a bit more and I think I'm starting to see the funny side of it all. I mean anybody who manages to sit there after the way he's behaved and give you dating and relationship advice with a straight face really deserves a medal. He said he'd had an idea of his 'perfect woman' in his mind before he met his girlfriend. I said I'd never had a 'perfect man' idea in my head and muttered 'maybe that's where I'm going wrong'. He turns around without a hint of irony and says 'yeah, maybe'. Lol, yeah, that'll be it . Not the fact that I pick v.v.wrong 'un's like you!Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0

Hi Gwen,
I would def see the funny side of it, it could be much worse you could be with a guy like that, think i'd rather be single.... my OH is nothing like id say the perfect guy was if I had to list things... but he loves me, excepts me for who I am and makes me smile what more can I ask for... at least those things will last:p1 debt vs 100 days part 6-11total paid £8,135.86 Final Debt [STRIKE]6,948.61[/STRIKE] £3,174.940 -
Grrrr:mad: long post gone:mad: Anyway, the gist of it
- gwen, just thank your lucky stars you don't have an OH like that, much better to be single, I am often surprised at work by the way some men I previously considered to be lovely and decent behave:eek: Relationship advice from a creep- what a bloody cheek:rolleyes:
- have just done my first ever grocery shop online and I think I have spent £50 on £35 worth of stuff:rolleyes::o
- am off work so currently pampering, have a Morrisons carrier bag on my had as I have lost my special hair treatment cap:D
- will start a big declutter later as I have let things slip and I need to get back on top of it. I need order in at least one area of my life:D
- Dex- you have made me want a "lovely home" magazine now, I gave up buying them but I think I might just get one to spur me on:D

careful sarah they're so dangerous, I buy the magazine, have a good drool and find some lovely website selling awesom stuff for the house, then spend the next couple of hours putting things in and out of the basket and inevitably end up spending money (no wonder I can't afford to get the walls plastered!):rolleyes:1 debt vs 100 days part 6-11total paid £8,135.86 Final Debt [STRIKE]6,948.61[/STRIKE] £3,174.940 -
I've lost a long post aswell this morning. I'm wondering if the time out thing is shorter. Also, we've been moved. Wonder if that is anything to do with it.
Thanks Sarah and Dex. You're right, I'd rather be single than with somebody like that. I think why it bothers me so much is that he's my worst fear really. A guy that you think you know and is all really lovely, but there is potential down the road to find out that he isn't and never was what you thought he was. He's also started to criticise other people's relationships recently  I really just want to say to him, just because your girlfriend hasn't figured out what a creep you are, hardly makes you an authority on relationships. Anyway, rant over I promise.
I've been talking to the fish again. He's still v.nice and funny and still isn't asking me out. I flicked through 'He's not that into you' the other week and I'm fearing that might be the case.
How did you manage to overpay on the groceries Sarah? I really love online grocery shopping these days, although I won't do it unless I can get 10 pounds off a 50 pound shop nowRight I'm going to carry on packing for my weekend away. Have fun!
