Hi makeup
If it makes you feeling any better I agree
so we can be bad people together
One of my friends has a 10 month old baby and all meetings/conversations do tend to revolve around the baby
It's not a jealousy thing, or resentment but there is more to life

I am dreading the endless conversations - it is the same when someone gets married....there are only so many 'wedding favour' conversations I can have!!!!
Luckily my sister and several pals have had kids so I can hold my own in baby / child conversations but it is always a bit removed from me as I'm only ever talking about other peoples experiences.
I now have urge to go out and get drunk and be crazy and meet some inappropriate men!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

Hello all,
Shoe Gal & makeup - you are not bad people at all, you are exactly the kind of friends I loved when I had my DD - friends without children who just wanted to spend time with me & talk about the usual girl stuff
But then I was a bit odd; couldnt stand the mother & toddler style groups & lets all be frumpy & boring now we've got children type of people.
My best friend kept me sane - & reminded me that I was still me & not just a mother devoid of any life beyond nappies etc .She would happily turn up with bottles of wine ( no, I didnt do that breastfeeding malarkey - so shoot me
6 months is plenty long enough to abstain thank you) & would kindly accept phone calls at odd hours of the night to coincide with feeding schedules. Years on & now that she is in the hospitality business I return the favour by accepting her late night/early morning calls.
The friendship may change & even wane a bit while your friend acclimatises herself to being a parent but I urge you to stick with it & become the friend who releases her from duty now & then & provides the fun without frump.
I dearly love my childless best friend; she has never dumped her kids on me, passed on measles, mumps or chicken pox, never suggested that I have a soft drink rather than a large G & T, never told me that I really should grow up now that I'm a mother & provides hours of amusement when we recall our much misspent youth

I intend to be that friend
my friend has been in the wilderness far too long  Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
I updated my blog finally... www.a-year-in-oz.blogspot.com
My mate is trying to set me up with this girl, I remain unconvinced, I almost want to deliberately blow my chances so I don't get attached. The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -
