Gosh, it's been quiet on here.
I've had a fun evening out.
Went to theatre with some friends - the play was a work in progress and so there was a discussion / critique thing aftewards. Then the musician who did the music for the play did a concert of her music.
It was really good and great to hear discussions about the play we had just seen.
On the way home I stopped off at a Mexican place for a takeaway burrito. My flatmate is American and loves Mexican and complains about the lack of good mexicans over here. So I picked up a burrito for us both tonight and it was sooo good. Plus I'm now in the flatmates good books...hurrah for karma!
On a more negative note, the guy I saw earlier this week on our spontaneous date clearly didn't feel the same as me as has rung me every day.
He was on about coming over yesterday but put him off by saying I was tired.
He rang me twice today but I didn't pick up. First time cos I was at work and we are slammed at work at the moment and I didn't want to have to deal with this in the office and second time my phone was on silent at the theatre.
I just don't know what to do. I'm so used to being the one whose calls go unanswered or who has to read the 'i'm just not into you' signs that I don't know how to end things in a good way. And not in a chicken - not picking up the phone way!
Aargh! Oh well, will leave it tonight and just see what happens tomorrow. I'm too knackered to deal with this now!
Hope you are all having fun Fridays!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hello!
It's quiet on here. How is everybody? I've been busy updating my CV and applying for jobs. Seen some more I might apply for too. I don't know whether any of them will work out, but it feels good to be being proactive and doing something about a situation I'm not happy with. I need to thank Sarah aswell. When I first saw the jobs, I kind of freaked out a bit. The thought of leaving what is familiar and 'safe' (I guess in one sense) is scary, even if I'm not happy, but I thought of Sarah saying 'if you don't change what you're doing, how will your life ever change?' or words to that effect and I've kept that with me even when I felt like giving up with the CV and not applying because it was all too much hassle.
The theatre sounds fun, makeup. Shame about the guy. Good on you though, for taking the chance and being spontaneous enough to go out on a date with him. Maybe next time he calls, just say 'Sorry, I just don't see it going anywhere' or 'Sorry, there just wasn't a spark for me' and let him down gently.
Glad you're enjoying your hols, Holly. It sounds lovely and so relaxing, perfect.
Hi Bowski, loving the sound of your 'spree'. Haven't had one for ages, it's great to come back with loads of bags of lovely stuff *sighs wistfully*
Nice to meet you SuSu and even to a newbie (or relatively) you don't sound smug at all. Like Shoe Gal says its a reminder than good things happen and give us all faith that things can and will change.
I've just gotten v.excited. I desperately need to order some new contacts. I usually get them for around 50-60 quid from Vision Direct (with cashback from Quidco aswell) and I just looked and they've gotten more expensive - 72 pounds for a years supply. Wasn't v.happy. Did a bit of a scout around though and I can get them from Lenstore or something for just under 40 pounds for the year and 10% cashback, therefore 36!!! Yay! :T Gosh, I'm really sad.

Hey Gwen
I think you're doing the right thing. Some of the things you've posted about your job don't sound that great and if you can find something better (and more cash!) then that would be amazing.
Sometimes as well I think looking for a new job helps you feel more positive in your current job - you don't feel so trapped?!
And Yay for cashback on contacts - you found a fab deal.
I picked up a couple of bits in Monsoon. I went to the Kings Road branch in Chelsea and it is a huge store just full of sale stuff, it was quiet and was well organised.....such a change from the usual!!!
My friend is having a picnic tomorrow for her birthday and I just hope the weather holds!! It was lovely here earlier and now it is rubbish!
I texted the guy from Monday and said I wasn't ready to see anyone as getting over messy breakup...... He has said we can still see each other as friends but I don't know if he really means it.....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hi
Grrrr, just wrote a whole post and lost it. I agree makeup. I'm glad I applied. I'm not sure whether this job will work out or not as I think I'd have to take a reasonable pay cut. There's a pay cut I could *maybe* take for a better career and then there's a pay cut that'll screw me over. I'm fearing that it may be the latter, but you don't know until you try. I saw another job on Friday aswell and I'm seriously considering applying for that. I think you're right though, it is nice to see that there are other options out there.
The contacts didn't quite work out as well in the end. I was working out prices based on price/box. The boxes generally contain 6 contact lenses, therefore I need 4 boxes for a years supply. However the place with the excellent price was selling boxes of 3 in the end - damn. Good job I noticed otherwise I'd have been well peed off when they arrived. Anyway they weren't the cheapest then, so I got them from somewhere else at about 64 pounds, which was the best I could find. I really think I should start saving up for haircuts and contact lenses and solutions, then I wouldn't feel so stung when I need to fork out for them. Not v.happy with the state of my bank balance/credit card at the moment, boiler repair, weekend in London, new contacts etc, etc have really stung me. It's been an expensive month or so. Still hopefully things will settle down and with the exception of London, most of it has been pretty much essential spending. On the plus side, I keep finding more stuff to put on my 'sell on ebay/Amazon' pile. Hopefully once I get some time and start cracking on with that I should start making some money to pay off my CC. Quidco should also start paying out in the next couple of months.
Oh my gosh, good job on the Monsoon stuff. I haven't really been to many sales this year, but I have checked most of them out online.
Hmm, do you want to be friends with 'spontaneous man'? If you've told him you're getting over a bad break up, he may have intentions of hanging around until you are over it and trying again. But seriously, don't take my advice - the only thing I know about men is that I know nothing about them.

Oh yes, where is Sarah? I think I had that all in the post I lost. Hope everything's ok and you're just busy forming kick-a$$ plans (or else whisked off by nice man like Shoe Gal says). Also, I'm hoping Pink is ok, she's not been on for a while.
Sorry you're feeling down TDQ. Keep posting. In fact the more down you feel, the greater the need to post. Maybe we can help?
Hope everybody else is ok. I'm glad you're enjoying your hols Buffy. I think some pampering is a fantastic way to start. On the subject of POF, I'm still chatting to a fish. He really sounds v.nice and normal and is v.funny. I just wish he'd hurry up and ask me out, or maybe he just wants to chat?
