Single and in Debt Part II

Hey guys - I hope you are all feeling better today.
I guess I have a different viewpoint to others on here. My exes have never solved my problems for me...mostly created new ones I hadn't thought of. Probably it is down to bad experiences in the past but I don't feel like having a boyfriend right now would make my life any better.
Anyway my place needs a serious tidy up and my friend has given me a copy of Lady Gaga so gonna put on some tunes and get working!
(might have to go to the supermarkets for emergency Magnums too!)I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Hi,
I don't think we want someone to make our lives any better, we just want someone there to have fun with and to argue with as well! After a while, not having the toilet seat missed by a cute guy is something that is missed, even though it sounds crazy.
Anyway, I've just bought a pair of fake ghd's, so now I've got to fork out another £120 for real ones. Bum.
x0 -
Wow, were you all chatty last night!
I've just had to read about 5 pages to catch up.
First thing I think is needed is a reminder of the F Fabulosity of the SAIDs, particularly those who are not feeling particularly Fine or Fabulous at the moment. And a particularly dodgy hug smiley to Buffy (I wish someone could invent a suitable punishment for BAD bosses ), to Sarah (even if it is the hormones) and to Pink Twirl. And a little wa-hey to FeeFee and TDQO, who have clearly been busy (and TDQO - women on multiple continents is just cheeky).
Gwen - I'm ok thanks, or I certainly expect to be in a couple of months. I can't wait to be "off the sick" - a suitably foul expression for the way it feels. Glad to hear you're ok, and quietly not spending.
Btw, if at any time I sound like a "smug married" on here, please feel free to take me out, beat me, and wash my keyboard out with soap and water. I've always hated the thought of becoming anything like that. I have been thinking about what was said last night, and I recall it was the wise makeup (I think?) who said that in the end we may get something wonderful, but it wouldn't necessarily be what we originally wished for (or words to that effect). I would have loved children, but due to an early equipment failure, that's not been on the cards. But perhaps in compensation, I was lucky enough to find my lovely OH in my late 30s. I am nowhere near brave or stupid enough to say that it will happen when you least expect it. But life is a strange and wonderful thing, and I am glad that I got surprised by it.
Now - off to find out what is lurking in the bags on the floor of my dressing room...hopefully plenty of stuff to eBay, or maybe even some old clothes that will now fit me again.
Hope you are having a fabulous sunny Sunday.0 -
Afternoon all, my head hurts! Am feeling much better for having a good rant last night. I bought a pair of trousers last week when having a fat day, have just tried them on and they are huge:D Will have to exchange for a size or two down so quite happy about that. Am still fat though.
Am going to spend today doing housework type things, I always feel better when everything is clean and tidy, I am going to try and keep on top of this rather than letting it build up, after all, what if I meet someone and I want to invite him back here?Shoes all over the place and chocolate wrappers aimed at, but not quite reaching, the bin do not give the impression I wish to give.
Can't believe I did all that decluttering and it is still untidy.
I need to do something about my weight and my general health as well, I know it is very poor and I am very lazy, I do not think at the moment I would actually be in any fit state to be able to get pregnant anyway. Although I do look as if I am.I do not know where this stupid apple/pear/fruit bowl shape came from, I have put on 3 stone in about 3 years and I am just the oddest shape, why isn't it spread out equally? I need it gone. And it won't go with all this drinking and rubbish food.
Am thinking of trying to be good in the week and keeping Friday nights as my takeaway/wine/chocolate/anything I want night, I need to have something to look forward to. I have never been one of those people who could eat anything and not put on weight even when I was young, but I have really let it get out of hand in the past couple of years.Again, I am not giving the best impression of myself here.
Grrrr! So many things to sort out! Need to do the baby steps approach I think. Today I will tidy up, change the bedding, do some washing and eat sensibly.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
I think you singlies are missing the point here. Whilst having an available OH to take to the many events on the social calendar is great it doesn't nescessarily mean that they actually want to go. In fact the amount of effort it takes to get them places at times means its infinately preferable to go on your own.
Singlies never get the "and what time do you call this" ear bending when arriving home sober at 9pm having stayed out 30 minutes beyond the anticipated 8:30pm ending of a work related meeting. Sometimes its like I'm 12 again .
Singlies don't have to share a bed with a snoring farting thing who after several beers becomes incapable of using toilet paper properly - uggh is the understatement of the year.
Singlies get to wear whatever underwear they want without comment. It is not assumed that you will wear a g-string every single day of your life. No sane woman wants to go horse riding in a g-string!
Singlies can wear whatever they like without comment and do not have to endure the recurring anti-pajama conversations.
The only person to criticise a singlies outfit is the singlie themself. OHs have a knack of saying "you're not wearing that are you" when clearly you are or you wouldn't have put it on in the first place.
There are no cries of "are you ready yet" three nano seconds after you enter the bathroom.
On those days when all you fancy is beans on toast the OH will be adament thats its roast dinner night.
As for TV well whilst I would like to watch Bridget Jones Diary or Desperate Housewives I invariably end up watching Trawlers, Rigs and Rescue (I kid you not it really exists and it is as dull as it sounds).
OOOh and most important of all the ironing pile of your average singlie is 50% of the size of us marrieds. See you singlies have it all!

Brilliant post Moo:D I know being in a couple isn't the be all and end all and I am particularly glad to be missing out on the highlighted ones:D I shall demand separate rooms and tvs. I think the point is we are never satisfied with our lot and the grass is always greener etc and us singletons still imagine we will have our swept off our feet moment.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I understand what everyone is saying, I'm not thinking that the grass is greener, I have been in a relationship before and I lived with him for 3 years, I remember what it's like, bad points and all, and I'd do it all again with someone else, just not the really bad bits. Like when he used to hit me, when he ignored me 7 nights a week in favour of his computer games, how he never did his part of the cooking, cleaning, washing or shopping. He just sat on his !!!!, as long as he was the big shot at work, home didn't matter to him.
Did it put me off ever wanting to be with a guy again? No, because if I don't take risks, I'll get nothing. How I get that chance is something I haven't worked out yet, but if I get a guy that doesn't treat me like dirt and doesn't hit me or cheat on my, I think I can put up with farting, laziness at weekends and pee around the toilets.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend xx0 -

You got it wrong TDQO is a lad, and his ex would def be single, he'll be choking on his beer when he reads that.:rotfl:
Been catching up on the posts and I agree why the heck am I single? I'm beginging to think I come across as been too confident, but I'm not prepared to change that, but like everyone on here I am F fabulous so we shouldn't be single, I'll never work it out, so I'll be back later.0
