How did you get that result?
How do you know what actual annual consumption figures in kWh to expect if it is a new house?
Have you checked elec & gas as separate supplies to see if that offers a cheaper overall solution?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Its similar sized flat and guesstimated a bit more from our previous usage.
Previously we used 6-7k gas kwh and 2.5-3k electricity kwh. in old flat New flat is similar sized and our habits will stay same. Altho have an electric cooker instead now.
So prob gas will be 6k and elec 4k.0 -
npower's cheapest rates require you to commit yourself to them for 12 months min. before you will see the prices shown on the switching sites. Take care out there...Call me Carmine....

Low consumption. Certainly for gas, have you had a look at Ebico? Your gas bill would be £220 a year with them. Their electricity is another story, though...Call me Carmine....

Was asking about customer service etc. Npower Sign-online 14 seems to be the best one.0

Are you suggesting npower have the best customer service?
Often it's cheaper to split your gas and electric suppliers to get the best price, BTW. If you provide me with your supply area I will have a look for you.Call me Carmine....

I've been with npower nearly a year now and have found their customer service to be fairly good. I've had to do quite a bit of chasing and a couple of repeat phonecalls but to be honest I've found similar with every supplier I've used and these are one of the better ones in my experience.0

Eh?? My post is based on the published data of just about EVERY poll/survey etc etc. Plus I for one have been very helpful in asking for details so I can get the OP the best deal out there. You in comparison have just been boorish and rude. No need for it.Call me Carmine....

Can i retype my question?
I've pmed you my postcode for comparisons sites and my usage is approx 6-7k for gas a year and 4-4.5k electricity usage. (we try and save as much as poss).
We want to get a non-fixed (no 12 month etc) contract using direct debit and internet billing (if it makes bills cheaper)...
Am willing to pay a little more for a better supplier :P. Thanks0 -

Hi neas, sorry for the delay (had to go out). Yes, got your postcode and here goes:
Cheapest dual fuel tariff is npower SOL14 at £604 per year. Please note this includes an annual discount, though, so you wouldn't get it at this price if you din't stay with them for at least 12 months*
Splitting the gas and electric as I suggested gets these results:
Ebico is cheapest supplier for gas at £221
EDF Online is cheapest for electric at exactly £400
So. a total of £621.
£17 more than the dual duel deal from npower BUT only if you stay with them for at least 12 months (in other words you are committed to them in order to get a better deal rather than using Ebico and EDf respectively which don't have any such 'requirements').
In all surveys/polls I have seen npower come at the very bottom or near it for customer srvice. EDF tend to fare very well (comparitively, the energy industry is not famous for its cust service, to be fair) and Ebico seems popular with their punters.
HTH. Over to you.npower tariffs can include a large discount paid at the end of each year - anything from £21 to £105 a year. Therefore over the year you will save the money quoted, however, if you leave during the year you will lose the discount and some of your savings. npower now offer the option of managing your account online, with online billing and the ability to submit a meter reading and pay your bill online. Once you have become a customer you can sign up for this, if you want.Call me Carmine....
