Afternoon all and isn't it beautiful today!!! (apologies if it is not so good where you are!)
Just home from work and it is my day off tomorrow so feeling really cheerful. Think I will go to the garden centre tomorrow as I am going to take the plunge and try to grow some veg!! Haven't got much space at all to spare but figure I could try growing some in pots. We always have tomatoes on the go in summer and herbs and peppers last year but want to try a few more things this year. I am becoming so domesticated! About time really at my age!!!
Have had a quick tidy round since I came in and am now going to take the dog to the park to make the most of this weather.
((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need or want them, Happy Birthday to the birthday people today and love and best wishes to everyone else. I will catch up with everyones news later when I come back."Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
Weight loss since January 2011 - 5st 5 lbs!!!!!0 -
Wow, I've just read yesterday's thread and wanted to say how touched I was by everyone's birthday wishes. I really didn't expect it as I am such an infrequent poster.
Had a lovely day shopping and then DD came up and stayed the night and we went out for a meal so no OS going on at all.
I have plans to get out in the garden this afternnon after work - I'd like to plant a herb garden this year - I have a lovely rosemary bush but would like to have some chives, thyme and so on.
DD has heard that she is still employed, having had to apply for a new post in her organisation - 4 jobs for 6 people, although she's been lucky it's very distressing that people she's worked wth for years are being made redundant.0 -

We had this when we moved out of our flat and wanted to know if we were going to be redecorating when we moved out er no! I took every lightbulb, unscrewed the grippers and also removed every carpet from the house as none of them were reusable.
Been a busy day today but had some news on my benefit although they are withholding £92 from me but they cant see on the system why so they are going to call me back tomorrow and see if they can get a giro released at the Job Centre, if so it will buy some stuff for the garden and a new gameOf all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most£2,960 in debt to RBS paying off at £10 a Fortnight0 -

Anyway its £65 or there abouts a week for the first 13 weeks and then it gose up by £16 a week after.
As you can gess this will not be enough for me to live on for a long time its only just over JSA so i need to look into what else i can claim.
Also have to do even more old style money saving i think:D
If things go the way im thinking that thay will then i shall be on the sick so to speak for a long time.
(this is brain tumor numer threee for me so i know how things go with them and how long it take for the drs to sort things out)
Anyway i hope that you all are enjoying the sunshine

no! I took every lightbulb, unscrewed the grippers and also removed every carpet from the house as none of them were reusable.
Just to point out that when we moved house our solictor said that taking the lightbulbs is actually illegal (something to do with health and safety) and that although people do it they shouldn't really (sneaky way 'round it is to take the working lightbulbs out and put old duff ones it)....... mind you he also said he'd known of houses where people had taken doors.....I don't think I could be bothered to take carpets either - let the new people shift 'em....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

Unfortunately we HAVE to remove everything from the flat including the carpet gripper and curtain fittings........its a legal requirement of the council. If you leave anything behind the charge is £300.  All the flats are re-painted, but only the walls and ceiling, none of the woodwork is done....so although the flats look ok the woodwork is appalling, if you want it done you have to pay and do it yourself:eek:  that is one of the reasons that we have allowed a cross over....so we can clear everything..........mind you I am not sweeping up. I had a right job getting paint off the floor tiles and the windows looked like they had a paint fight. They don't go round light switches, just roller over the top, so that all had to be cleaned as well, I did complain about the state the decorators left the place in, but it was greeted with stony silence!!!!!!!!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
ahh council is different because anything you "add" you have to take out don't you to leave "in the same state of repair as when the tenancy started"? (or something like that). What a palavar and £300 - they're having a laugh onthat one! - still makes me laugh about the doors though (you haven't bought your own doors have you???;) ) Mr Rage's parents live in HA rented and the cockeyed way in which workmen leave stuff has to be seen to be believed...... (non-draining shower with two elderly people with health/mobility issues anyone???). Good grief.....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

Evening all,
Halight, you are an inspiration, the way you face these things head on (so to speak) I wish you the very best of luck, hugs to you and your wife and the twins xx
Finished work at 3, went and collected the dog and dd, home by 4, did an hour on the wii fit, cooked a beef casserole ( well it had been in the sc all day) just finished it off, with cous cous, roast squash, carrots and cabbage, it was delish.
Washed up, had a bath, changed dd's bed, shoved it in the wash, will hang it on the airer when finished, will put another load in after and hang that. Phew am k*******d now. Got a slight back ache, will have a nice early night, then do it all again tomorrow.
