Bethebee - you and your family are in my prayers. You, being you, will do wonderful things and keep things together, but it is so hard, especially watching close friends and family suffer.
Halight - I just don't know how you manage. I am full of admiration for you.
Today I go to the Dentist. I need to be sedated, at the dentist's insistence, and I don't react well to any anaesthetic. So please ignore anything I type after 2pm and I am not sure what will be posted tomorrow.
Dear heart has managed to get an afternoon off work, but it is going to be a tight turn around so he will arrive and little bear and I will have to be there with our coats on ready to get in the car. Poor dear heart, he does suffer when I have anything to do with the fang farrier (thank you Lame Wolf, splendid expression - haven't seen you for a while hope you are okay?). First of all dear heart has to cope with me being tetchy on the way in. Then he has to wait with little bear while I am sedated, then I talk unadulterated rubbish all the way home and then I sleep. So I want to ensure that all is ready for tea etc. because I won't be in a fit state and dear heart will be looking after little bear. So I am going to try and get everything ready for dear heart for a pleasant afternoon and evening while I am sleeping it off.
I'm looking forward to the sleep, to be honest.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning all,
Happy birthday to Vicki A and Chocolate orange:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Beth....sorry to hear your news, but there is no reason for you to feel guilty....we need to take each day as it comes in order to stay reasonably sane...hugs
Halight....hugs...stay with the positive outlook.
Taking OH to day hospital in a few minutes, he hates going but needs the physiotherapy for his shoulder, he is good at doing it himself but needs a top up from the therapist.
Not sure what is going to come first on my list to-day, its lovely and mild here so think that I might weed the herb bed, which includes getting rid of lots of docks, hate the b***dy things but it needs doing, probably do a load or two of washing as the weather is so good for drying, not sure if we will have chicken again to-day, will see when I get back from Naas.
Had more than 7 hours sleep last night but still feel wrecked...need to catch on to myself, feel that the body needs to be lighter to get back my energy.
Have a good day all
Marie
Sybil...good luck with the fang farrier....I love that expression too...take it easy and try to be nice to yourself, it helps.Weight 08 February 86kg0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
(((HALIGHT))) - sorry to hear another tumour has turned up
Went to the auction last night, but apart from a gorgeous botanical print of a rhododendron for £2 the other 399 lots weren't much cop. I felt brain dead by the end.
Trying to get up the motivation to do lots today. I've already hoovered downstairs and dusted our bedroom. :T Now I have a white wash to do and get on the line (I'm thinking I might have to get a normal clothes line across the garden - my rotary dryer seems to take a long time to dry clothes. I'm watching neighbour's dry several loads in a day and I can only dry one.)
I have some writing to do this morning and then I'm out in the garden for the rest of the afternoon cracking on with the kitchen garden. Discovered I can build little raised beds out of all the spare bricks and concrete blocks left over from some building work we had done, so I have plans for a raised carrot and parsnip bed. Some of the blocks have been manufactured with big holes in them so I'm going to fill those full of soil and put individual plants in there.
This evening will be pasta with spicy tuna sauce and throughout the day I'll be dosing my sick chicken with medicine and hand feeding her. I will also be staying out of hubby's way, as he's turned into a right grumpy sod over the last few weeks and I get snapped at when I speak.
Have a fab day all!!

Was up at 7am. making a frittata with potato, onion, tomato, grated cheese and a couple of eggs. I put it in the fridge to cool down so DD(15) could have some of it for a packed lunch.
She ended up having some of it for breakfast and really enjoyed it. As she has just started wearing a dental retainer for a month am trying to make her things that are easy to eat. Have promised her I will make either pizza or pasta salad that she can take for lunch later in the week, which really impressed her.
Happy Birthday VickyA:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
((((Bethebee))))
Please don't feel bad for enjoying the good as well as having to deal with the bad.
(((Halight)))
You are being very brave and we will all be crossing our fingers for you over the next few months.
Got reduced price chicken thighs last night so they are skinned and put in the slow cooker, tha way I can add herbs and spices for one DD and also saute potatoes to go with it and make chicken and veg pasta for the other DD.
DH is at a meeting all day and I have convinced (nagged nicely) him to tell his boss he is taking early retirement later this year.
Hugs to everybody and wave to new people:hello:
Going to see if I can order present for 85 year old auntie from the net rather than spend over a fiver to go into York, nearly £3 for a posh cup of coffee, more if I have lunch or get tempted into bookshops etc. If I can do the shopping from home then I can sit here with a pot of tea and watch out for postman, telephone call etc. Bliss!!!;)"This site is addictive!"

Hiya!!
Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days!
Hope everyone is keeping well?
I am aching all over, from a full on workout yesterday. Went a bit mad at the gym and swimming pool and feeling the effects today! Lost 3lb this week, so definately on track.
DS came home with a letter from Beavers yesterday about a sleepover camp out. to be honest I am quite scared about it! DS has never stayed away from home, with someone that is not family and I am afraid to let him go. DH is quite happy to let him go and says I shouldnt be holding him back and putting my fears onto him. But he is my baby and I really don't want him to go. Am I being too over protective? He is only 6 and I still see him as being little!
Loads to do round the house today, one thing being the boy's bedroom. I might not come out alive! It's that bad in there! If I don't post tomorrow, can someone send out a search party? lol
Right I'm off to look for a white choc and raspberry muffins recipe, as I have raspberries to use up.
Hugs to all

Little bear is fine despite just having pulled a chest of drawers over on top of himself. The only injury I can find is a skinned knuckle.
The drawers had been pulled out so I think he was attempting to scale the north face of the drawers.
I have no idea what to do now re the chest of drawers - surely he must have something in his room, but is it safe to leave it there. Experience says that bumps are something of a challenge to him.
I'm carefully reorganising my plans for this morning to allow for keeping an eye on little bear.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

......I had my latest M.R.I. scan rezults of my head yesterday. And thay comferm that i have another b rain tumor! Thats number four now!
...............................Im still job less (dout that anyone will give me a job now anyway)
Do you qualify for any incapacity / disability benefits after the results? That may be a solution to the job situation - or voluntary work to keep you occupied? (Although I think you probably have enough with the twins!)

Morning all,
VickyA and chocolate orange, Happy Birthday to you both!
Marie, I hope OH gets on ok at hospital.
Halight, sorry to hear your news.
Snowy, tomorrow might be ok I just need to see if I can rearrange something.
Sybil, I’m glad your little one wasn’t hurt more seriously. I think the only answer if you have a toddler who is going through the climbing stage is to ensure all heavy furniture is fixed to the wall, use drawer locks and most importantly, supervise them constantly and give them lots of stimulation to prevent them from getting bored and getting into michief. When mine were toddlers I felt I couldn’t take my eyes off them and I was glad that we lived in a bungalow so they were always on the same floor as me and under my [strike]evil[/strike] watchful eye. It's hard work, but believe me this stage really does pass.
I got a lovely surprise when I came home from work yesterday. A neighbour had sent me some beautiful flowers. Sadly we found her cat at the side of the road on Monday. They work full time and their children are old enough to come home from school by themselves and I didn’t want them to find the cat on their way home so I lifted her and brought her home until they got back from work. It was awful breaking the news to her and her husband and they were terribly upset but anyone would have done the same so I’m really touched by the card and flowers she sent.
It’s a lovely spring morning here. There was a heavy mist first thing but now it’s sunny and warm so I’ve been pottering in the garden. I lifted chicken breasts out of the freezer and when I went to defrost them found a large plate of cooked spaghetti that someone had stuck in the microwave last night so I’m going to try to combine the two with some veggies to make a pasta bake tonight. After that I’ll be rushing out to work, but happily one of my more ‘difficult’ patients doesn’t need a call this evening so it should be a short night tonight. :j
I hope you’re all having a good day.

Hiya all,
Bright and sunny here as it was yesterday. It's feel like spring has sprung, YAY!
Had a spot of bad news last night from Mum. Missy the younger of the two cats we have at home passed away. She had been ill for a while and the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her. She just stopped eating and was being sick all the time.
Mum was down to feeding her a teaspoon of tuna a day as that's all she would take. Apparently she just lay down in her basket and shut her eyes. Mum called me on my way to hockey and she was very upset. We lost the dog last year too so now we just have Ham, Missy's mum, at home.
Won't be the same at the house now.
Anyway these are facts of life and you can't let it get you down, I had a small health scare yesterday which required NHS 24 and a quick trip to the docs but apparently all is well. Let's just say it involved a lump and lot of headless chicken type panicking.
OH is offshore tomorrow so he is doing a last 'red-up' of the flat which will involve the third trip to the charity shop and a whip round with the hoover. I miss him so much when he is away.
We bought a brand new dyson on eBay last for half the retail price. It is a demo model form a well known elec shop so hope it is ok.
OS wise well I shall be swishing and swiping along with a quick store cupboard stock check. HM salad with chicken & bacon pastry for lunch.
HUGS to all today including Beth, halight, sybil & Little bear
