OS Daily Wednesday 18th March

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 18th. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.

Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning all...........................(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one....

I have been to bed honest woke up with a nasty nightmare, so decided a cup of tea and a while on the internet would get me in the mood to sleep again.:D :D

I am going to see a blogging pal today, promised her some foxglove seedlings from our allotment........the car needs a long run. It has to have a 'burn up' every few weeks to keep the filters clean and cut down on the emissions....todays the day.

Not much OS going on, OH will get his own lunch and I will probably do HM fish and chips when I get back. I have to go to Argos on the way home and pick up the trolley I have ordered.

OH was fine yesterday, just 2 days to go before we see the consultant, hope he has some positive news for us. I am betting on BPPV......we will see............

Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Morning Csarina and all who follow

I'm up with the lark this morning due to falling asleep watching Miss Marple in bed last night!I was out for the count by 8.30pm but must have needed it though

OH is back at work today so its just me and YS so if its as nice a day as it was yesterday we are going to the park to feed the ducks and play on the swings:DOn a domestic front I'm determined to tackle my windows as they are truly disgusting and the bright spring sunshine is making them look even worse:oGot my bed to strip and the bedding to wash.I think I might sling it out on the line I love the smell of outdoor dried washing especially bedding

I'm making a roast lamb tea tonight with all the trimmings and a rice pud for afters. So apart from a few veggies it will be all bunged in the oven and can look after itself till teatime so not much fussing involved

Sorry didnt manage to catch up with the thread yesterday so ((((((((hugs)))))))) to anyone that needs them and hope that its a brighter and better day for you today

Morning Csarina, Ravylesley & all to follow.

Feel completely shattered even though I slept last night but have woken with a streaming cold so will take some echinacea in a minute.

Have errands to run this morning, need to get some flowers, visit post office and then farm shop for a sack of spuds.

Meeting friend for lunch, she helped OH with my surprise party a lot so the flowers are for her.

Must get chicken out of the freezer for tonight will roast it but probably have it with jacket pots.

Off to have a quick surf before I need to make lunches & get dd's cooking ingredients ready.

    Have a great day.x

Still very busy at work, I'm working an extra 30 mins every day at the moment but at least I'm getting paid for it & for Saturday. I need to put a claim in for petrol for the First Aid course as well. It was Options Evening last night, lets hope it went well. The weather here has been great & we are spending an hour in the garden every evening, indoors I'm growing sprouting seeds & cut & come again lettuce.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning Everyone

Some of you were mentioning Martin's silly hat last night, he didn't listen so far, I "won" two sillier hats courtesey of Guinness at the Irish Bar last night. We went down to celebrations in the afternoon, went round the market and sat in the sun and listened to the live music (60's/70's) for over an hour it was great, I was driving so only coke consumed. Walked later to the Chinese, which was good, and then on to the Irish Bar, another good 60's/70's live band were playing and "freebies" given out, we came home with two silly hats, a cap, a t-shirt, two pens, a mouse mat, a radio in a pen and something else we haven't worked out what yet courtesy of Budweiser. It was slighly MS as the Chinese 3 courses including a bottle of wine between us, sangria welcome and prawn crackers was 16€

Sorry to hear your news Beth but your not celebrating your new GD would not have made a difference, life isn't fair though I agree.

    :hello: Welcome Newbies :hello:

    Take care - DG

    Have a fantastic day!!
DonnyGal, you put me to absolute shame - your St Patrick's Day celebration sounds fabulous!

I only slept a couple of hours last night and could do with a couple more. I think that I need to do a bit of exercise so that I am actually tired when I go to bed. Maybe I'll give that a go today, nothing too drastic though. I'd love a Wii Fit thingy - I get so embarrassed when I'm out and about as I'm not exactly svelte. Then I'd be able to puff and pant without scaring young children.

Old style today - who knows! I'll do something I guess, finish off a few of the jobs I've started in the house. No Ikea today, maybe tomorrow - well probably tomorrow. Pink, you available tomorrow?

Best go and get some breakfast.

    Bye

Good morning Chums , Its a beautiful day here in North Kent although having just moved my car so my son-in-law can park on my drive for the day the windscreen was a bit frosty. But the sun looks like its going to be around for the day so I'm geting the WM on early and hopefully will have a lineful blowing away by 9.00.a.m.

:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: Have a great Birthday Vikky A Hope you get lots of goodies

Went to dinner last night at youngest DD's Tess's, and sorted out her big 40 birthday present for her . A couple of years ago she took me to Twickenham to see U2 in concert and I agreed I will take her if I can sort the tickets out to see them in Amsterdam in July .She's not 40 until December but she is such a hard-working little gem, and I thought it would be a nice treat for her to see her all time favorite band somewhere nice .
In 2006 we went to see Robbie Williams in Amsterdam, and had a great time. She has been such a good lass to me over the past few years especially when I wasn't well that it's my way of saying thank you.She has a very busy time with her five children and she also works part-time .Her husband is o.k. about her having a week-end off from the kids, so hopefully we can sort the tickets out this week. She is walking on air this morning I expect.
I did ask her sister if she wanted to go as well but she said no, but I will think of something unexpected for her as a treat. They are such good daughters to me, and nothing is too much of an effort that I just want to thank them for all they have done. I'll have to get my thinking cap on for my Shelley, she is harder to get something for as she has such odd tastes, but she too is a smashing lady.
Well time I got a wriggle on and sorted out the washing Hope you all have a good day, take care
    Cheers JackieO
