Hmm this sounds very interesting this one. I have one persistent 11 year old and an interested 10 year old both yearning for their own mobile phone. This might keep them happy for a while and will be handy for when they are at a friend's house etc.

I'll hold on until people in the know have checked out the terms and conditions and whatnot. Maybe the call rates are ridiculously expensive or there's some such catch?

  • I can't get into the terms and conditions, anyone else manage to get in there?

  • Sadly there is a big catch regarding this, have a read of this thread

  • This was posted some time ago and as far as I know no-one has yet received a phone.
I ordered mine well before Christmas as an extra pressie for my little 'un but all I got was a letter saying they had received overwhelming demand and it would be 3 or 4 weeks before delivery. I'm still waiting!!!

I'm now wondering if it was all a big con.

Anyone actually received a phone yet?
    I'll catch up tomorrow!

the t&cs dont seem to state the rate. so thats a bit dodgy. but the contract does say there is a minimum 5quid purchase on any airtime or hardware. I imagine that means minimum 5quid a month bill even if you make no calls....

Might be worth emailing for the rates before committing....

BEWARE! I just had a call from Teddy Phone, who wanted all my personal details, including my Date of Birth, Bank Details, etc. He said that he didn't have any of these details on hand, and he wanted all details again, so he could send me the Teddy Phone.

This sounds like one of these Banking Scams, where these fraudsters call up asking for all personal details, and then they use these for forgery.

I had to tell this chap that I was not willing to give him my bank details, and when he mentioned that he wouldn't send me the Teddy Phone, I told him to cancel this order. This is long overdue by some months now, and I had forgotten about this.
